  1. Congratulations P&P! Wherever you may be....
  2. Wait. Not yet. We're learning head banging.
  3. Is it too late to get in on some of this spanking action?
  4. One-month already...you've put in the work and the rewards are piling up quickly. Congratulations Tiffany.
  5. Perfectly normal. The junkie thoughts are a part of the process, but they are only thoughts. Those thoughts only have the power we give them; the choice is ours...Always. Just keep doing what you're doing Sandi, you've got this.
  6. Welcome David and congratulations on six-months of freedom. Grab a seat and enjoy the ride.
  7. The mental fog and emotional roller coaster experienced in those initial days of a quit are uncomfortable. It helped me to shift focus to the fact that the withdrawal symptoms and everything that comes with them is not a result of the quit, but rather caused by smoking. Quitting is a challenge, but pays huge dividends. Smoking only promises a continuation of withdrawal and negative returns. Everything experienced during "hell week" is temporary. The newfound freedom gained in the process is permanent. Stay the course and the rewards will present themselves exponentially.
  8. It usually isn't. The anticipation leading up to the quit is often more overwhelming than the quit itself. Paralysis by analysis led many of us to continue smoking even when we knew it was time to quit. That's how it gets done. Motivation is unreliable and wavering. Commitment will give you what you need to plow through the rough spots even when you're not feeling it. Buckle up, knuckle down, and drive on.
  9. How do you do it? You just do it and keep going. The fog clears. Withdrawal weakens with time. A little mental discomfort in the early days is a small price to pay for a lifetime of freedom. Congratulations Sandi, you've made a great decision to free yourself from cigarettes. Also, welcome aboard the Train. You'll find plenty of support and answers to any questions you may have here. With time, you will appreciate this process immensely. Enjoy the ride.
  10. Three-years smokefree and a multitude of other things to celebrate in your life. Celebrate and enjoy, you earned it.
  11. Top-shelf quit Cristobal. You set yourself free and showed many others the path to freedom. Great work.
  12. You've got momentum and this quit is getting sticky. Congratulations Evelyn.
  13. NOPE!
  14. I've never heard of that before. It's not surprising though. The harm caused by cigarettes that we all know about is just the tip of the iceberg. Good riddance to cigarettes.
  15. NOPE!

  17. I shouldn't even admit this, but...when I opened this thread earlier today I couldn't help but wonder what any of this had to do with setting our clocks back next month. I've been a bit slow on the uptake all day. But anyway...down memory lane we go.

  19. These videos work well together. Get out of your easy chair and shake your biscuits to the musical stylings of Pinky and Perky.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
