  1. Nope, I CHOOSE freedom today!
  2. You all gave such excellent replies, thanks! I think by him saying it is my choice....the word CHOICE was like my eureka moment!!!! I suddenly thought yeah, that's it ! I can smoke if I want to or I can continue on this path of freedom from that sickening, putrid, disgusting, unhealthy, expensive killer. It's actually a no-brainer when I think like that!In this case the grass IS greener o the other side, glad I'm here with you all :bye:
  3. good one Tracey, made me giggle!
  4. never mind! I fixed it.
  5. :ireful1: Having ticker trouble here!
  6. I told him about my lying awake and thinking about his cigs the previous night and I also told him after that I dreamed I smoked. He said something very real to me," when it comes right down to it-it is my CHOICE. Pick up that cig or don't". I choose not to. How come him saying this to me was so profound in my head?
  7. Thanks Tracey! One question though...what does poop feel like?
  8. Nope, no way, not today!
  9. I have found that usually it's when I'm stressed about something I have a bad dream in one form or another, and I was very stressed last night thinking about those frickin cigs. All last week I had nightmares and kept waking my husband up in the other bedroom! However I think that's because I kept forgetting to take the patch off at bedtime.
  10. I wouldn't miss it for almost anything. I LOVE MUSIC! Most any kind except jazz and classical.

  12. I'm here.
  13. to post an SOS. I couldn't fall back to sleep after getting up to eat something. As I laid there in bed I started thinking about my husbands cigs in the kitchen drawer:(....I really had almost talked myself into just getting up and smoking one, I was so close, But then I thought of all of you here that have helped me along the way, and how I at LEAST owe you an SOS to try and talk me out of it....but I didn't smoke, and I didn't post....I fell back asleep. But THEN I had a bad dream that I DID smoke! I woke up so unhappy this morning thinking "did I or didn't I" it was that real to me. I just wish there was a way to control what we dream about, I guess! Is this common?
  14. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy you posted an SOS and YOU did the work of beating that craving down to the pavement and stomping on it's ugly head! Wow, where did THAT come from?! So proud of you indigo for keeping your precious quit! Sorry I wasn't here to help you through, but you had PLENTY of great help I see :D
  15. Hi! Glad you came back, I'm new since you left. Nice to "meet" you!
  16. I knew Beth from another board, and yes we also butted heads from time to time, she did with many there. But she also gave good, solid advice to many, and I can see she was very loved here. That other board had so much angst at times I could not stand it. My thoughts are with her family and also with everyone here who is grieving her loss. I'm so sorry.
  17. About 180 of those cancer killer sticks not smoked. Gotta start somewhere. I lost my ticker along the way. Rest in Peace, Beth.
  18. Not one puff today. :bye: (note:this emoticon can mean HELLO too!)
  19. And here's how I felt at times this past LONG week :) :aggressive: :wacko2: :yahoo:  :laugh2: :dash2: Thank-you for all of your support during this!

  25. I have no idea- getting tired of making the same old stuff over and over again. My husband is a "meat and potatoes" kinda guy. No casseroles, but he will eat chili and venison stew. So I just don't have a clue what to make anymore. He doesn't like tacos or porkchops either. Any ideas?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
