  1. I'm so glad you came here and chatted a bit! Good to hear you're doing kickboxing. That sounds like a lot of fun, and something to keep you busy. Sorry I wasn't here.

  3. I'm looking forward to being a week quit! And I'm so tired of putting on the patch every morning. I don't think I'm going to do the full month of step 1. I'm just going to do the two weeks I've got. Well, little over one week now. Dad said to be prepared to head to Rite Aid the day I step down to step 2, just in case. But I'm feeling pretty good in the mornings these days. I used to have a huge craving when I first woke up before I put on the patch, but I didn't get that this morning, so I'm taking that as a good sign.
  4. Welcome aboard Corey! As Saz said, post post post! I'm on two quit forums, so you won't always see me here, but if you ever SOS, I'll be there, okay? Join the chicks vs sticks game. The guys could use the help. ;)
  5. Welcome to the train! I threw away a 3 month quit before and kicked myself for the month and a half after it, constantly telling myself I'd quit tomorrow. I finally put on a patch and put on my big girl panties 4 almost 5 days ago. Make sure you have all those things thrown out because they will taunt you! And as someone else said (I'm feeling too lazy to scroll right now) stay away from alcohol.
  6. So you're lonely. People help with that, not cigarettes. Yes, you're upset. Smoking won't help with that either. Hold onto your quit. People are there for you, and proud of the progress you're making. Just stick with it. You'll have all the attention you want on Sunday at game. You'll be with friends. And tomorrow your dad will be home all day. You can find something to do. Cry it out if you have to. But just don't smoke.

  17. Aside from eating when I'm hungry... What I've been finding helps is counting deep breaths. 10 deep breaths at a time. I've spent half an hour to an hour just closing my eyes and counting my breaths. I don't know why it works for me, but maybe it'll help you too.
  18. It sucks they're smoking where you can see it. But I'm glad you're staying with your quit! I hope you get out of the clinic soon and get away from the smokers. My prayers to you, Evelyn!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
