  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. Way to go Aine!
  3. we have two different metaphors here that make for some funny imagery? For instance: don't let go of the rope or you'll fall off the train.
  4. I don't know if I could do a 12 hour plane trip even as a non-smoker. My 3DS battery would run out, my Kindle would lose power, and the PS4 isn't portable. lol Congratulations! Enjoy your trip!
  5. Ouch. Sorry you hit on hard times, dude. But smoking couldn't have made them any easier. Welcome back. Sticky quit this time, no matter what happens.
  6. Well done, Morgan! You conquered hell week.
  7. You made me want pudding and all we had was yogurt. The yogurt was yummy though.
  8. Thanks everyone! It feels great to be at three weeks! Yup. And everything with salt tastes so salty!

  10. When I went off the patch on a sorta forced quit (I was in a mental institute) I didn't notice any side effects.
  11. I had a mild cough for a few days just recently, but mostly dry coughs.
  12. NOPE! You got this down by now!
  13. I finished part of a project on my desktop computer and the first thing I wanted was to smoke. I always did that. I'd finish part of a project, feel satisfied, and reward myself with a smoke. Instead I ate a piece of ginger candy and went for a mile walk. Yesterday thanks to dad I got 10,000 steps for the day. So, yay! And I've lost that urge to smoke when I'm chatting in the role play chat I go to. I love the chat, but there are long periods of silence that usually I just went out for a smoke while waiting. Now I go for a 10min walk and see what's happened after that. So much of my smoking was tied to being on the computer or commercial breaks on TV. It's no wonder I just buried myself in blankets the first day and practically slept it off.
  14. I'm doing pretty good. Found one of my triggers today, so I went for a mile walk and ate some ginger candy. Not in that order. lol
  15. I'm working on a piece for mom on my computer, and after every step I'm used to going out and smoking. This time I ate some ginger candy and took a walk.
  16. I've heard Febreeze is pretty good, but it's pretty strong. Using an orange cleaner would work, but you'd be scrubbing down your car. I liked the Febreeze air clips for your vents, and my friend used one of those canned air fresheners to get the dog smell out of his car.

  21. OMG Runfree you're so pretty! I should change my Avi. I don't have any good pics of me though.
  22. Welcome Kathy! I started on this board on my day 1 and have made it through to almost three weeks (on Tuesday) already. All the reading and support really helped along the way. And don't forget about the SOS board. It really helped me when I was about to go have a smoke.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
