  5. Good morning Juan, You've gotten some REALLY good reply's here, great advice,... the only thing I can think to add, is maybe look at (on top of ALL the above), the habit part of smoking - you know those false "reasons" we gave ourselves to smoke,... like, coffee and cigg go together, or talking on the phone and smoking helps me concentrate or have to have a smoke after I eat, or, got a good review at work - need a cigg to "celebrate".... all nicotine LIES!!!.... if you don't smoke, NOTHING happens... not sticking a cigg in your face IS the new "nothing" ... and your nicotine addicted brain try's to tell you "It's part of me, my routine , I can't change it FEELS TO STRANGE AND I DON'T LIKE IT"..... see this for what it is... once your 72 hours nicotine free are past .. it's the - routine part - you have to see for what it is, and realize... humans are hard wired not to like being out of their comfort zone...but, that's ALL it is... it's uncomfortable - no doubt about that.. but see it for what it is.. giving it time to become the new normal was important for me to get my quit...substitute something else for ciggs.. tooth picks, gum.. whatever works for you.. Give yourself time to get a new normal... it's worth it.. I promise!
  6. Good morning Evelyn, sooo happy to see you're feeling better today :).. another day you've won the battle, good job!!! I'm very proud of you!! {{{hugs}}}

  9. :) so see, don't go rob'n no cigg store's ;) .... Op I see you posted how you handle a crave, let me read it, be right back.
  10. Hahaha.. now Evelyn... you know you can't go rob the store for ciggs... how would we bail you out?... :P
  11. What else do you do to keep busy?... I went to jig zone and put small puzzles together.. it takes me (cuz i'm not good at it) 15 or so minutes to do one, it's free, theres lots to choose from.. or chew on straws.. or tooth picks..
  12. Love -love-love your attitude!!! :D Keep up the good work, your doing great!!
  13. 6 months WHOO HOO!! Major CONGRATS!!!! :D
  14. Hi again Evelyn,.. you have NOTHING to say "sorry" for... MQ made this board for us to come and get support from each other.. when some one else is have'n a bad day with their quit, don't you want to be able to help them through it?? Sure you do!!.. it just happens that today - right now - it's not your turn to help some one else, it's your turn to be helped.. so let us help you now.. and when some ones else needs your help - then you can be there for them... ok ? ;)
  15. Well, I think that's good that you decided not to let the past effect your today...yay you!.. hows your patch's doing?.. what strength are they?.. have you thought about when you'll start to taper down on the dosage?...and ain't I just full of questions today? LOL :P.. I tried the patch YEARS ago... but I didn't really want to quit back then, so of course I had my "Excuse's" for why it didn't work - go figure, right! ;)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
