Hi Darcy, our biggest enemy is our own minds, we have a tendency to overthink and then over react which then makes us overthink even more, all understandable as nicotine addicts that messes with our brains.. but, this can and will clear up and the fear, doubt and fog will clear Never be ashamed to accept support or help, we all needed it and need it at different times, you are exactly where you need to be and we are all here to accept or offer support. Keep busy, find a distraction that you can really throw your whole self into, for me it was cooking a new addiction if you will, but a healthy one and use the board as much as you can to learn about this addiction as more understanding is your key to success and post as much as you need, there is someone here 24/7 that's the beauty of a worldwide forum. welcome to the train and the beginning of your FREEDOM journey

JW drinking is obviously a big trigger for you as it was for me, the quit must be protected above all else, if that means not going out drinking, locking yourself inside with donuts then so be it, you know your own weakness and its not forever. Treat yourself to other rewards and when you do start drinking again do it slowly, take water breaks etc, its like learning to ride a bike all over again, you have to have the training wheels on and know where the brakes are, take things slowly and you will be able to go back to your social norm just without smoking and slowly killing yourself.

that's awesome @Boo i`m more boo boo too but like the sound of yogi I hear you on the getting older part, I thought I would creak, crack and fluff my way through but was surprised, the Cobra is the hardest for me as my back seems to be the least flexible. I checked out some books from the library and have some apps on my phone which I found very helpful so I practice at home now, hopefully in the spring I will join a legit Yoga club as I have only attended classes at the gym. I don't think I will be doing this pose.... Namaste

any budding Yogi`s in here? I have just started doing Yoga and I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE it! I always dismissed it before as I preferred more action and motion and to be honest was as flexible as a telegraph pole but its great, I'm definitely more flexible but have a long way to go, its surprisingly good at strengthening and toning and relaxing the mind, I like to mix it up a bit with some weights and a resistance band So if like me you thought it might not be for you, you might just be surprised, I hope you give it a go

hi irene, welcome and congratulations on your quit, take it a step at a time, be kind to yourself and read everything as knowledge is power, jump in on the games and the social side too as this is a great distraction, post and reach out when you need to, we have all been exactly where you are right now at some point, keep going and don't let go of the rope.
