    Wedding

    Congratulations!
  4. Are you afraid of becoming old (I'm talking 80s-90s) ?
  5. Haha, yeah, black death probably looks better in the movies! :D
  6. Funny, when they did mine I wished it would never end, lol!
  7. If you could time travel where (when) would you go?
  8. Would you live your life with/without children had you a chance for a do-over?
  9. Which one is your favorite Star Trek character? When was the last time you felt truly content?

  11. Tons of books yet you only get to ''rent'' one per month, lol. Having the fast delivery pays itself off though.
  12. That's great, congratulations!
  13. I can't give you any advice having the emotional maturity of a 15 year old at times myself. Sorry. At least you are not the only one. I guess we never learned to deal with emotions the ''adult'' way whatever that is. :)
  14. Thanks guys. When I left I didn't want to make the ''big exit'' like everyone does, good thing I didn't because well, here I am again. I guess MQ anticipated that members can have mood swings and change-minds huh? I wasn't very involved lately on this forum, but I guess in my absence I realized that it meant more to me than I thought it did. (So I wanted to move on, but I kind of kept coming back again as a guest). So I'm back. No big deal. :)
  15. I hope you have a really, really awesome trip Trace! :)
  16. Congrats DD, way to go! :)
  17. Awesome! :)
  18. Yes, indeed. And another thing - at first everything revolves around smoking, or more like not-smoking. Your first fight with a spouse you survive without smoking, your first beer, your random inappropriate cravings, as well as euphoria about the newly discovered awesome life as a non smoker. But at one point it gets old. And the more boring you become in your quit, the easier it gets. It just becomes more and more normal not to smoke. No more new realizations and epiphanies. There is no great victory anymore with cooking dinner without a cigarette in your hand. You don't even think about it anymore. Even if you get a bad craving once in a long while, as soon as it is over, it's over. As Annael said - at one point it's a distant memory that your smoked.
  19. It gets easier with time. I believe at one point it actually becomes easy.

    my day

That must be tough, no one deserves that. But you are still young, cancer at your age is not likely. You said yourself that they were throwing words around, maybe there was an alternative explanation? If you have the lab results, something to go on, you could do your own research for alternatives. Since they already gave you the cancer scare there isn't much harm in that and you might get some peace of mind. Hope everything goes well for you.

    I'm a dick

Stay away from the alcohol if that's easier for you, however I can vouch that alcohol is not the problem, TOO Much alcohol is. If you are anything like me, a glass of wine or two won't give you a giant craving, a bottle however might. Mix that with an exaggerated mood (too happy or too angry/sad) and you have a recipe for failure. Everything in moderation. We all day that "I'm so gonna stay away from alcohol", after a night like that. But then we are out eating Italian and that glass of red is just what we need. Again - drinking and being drunk are two different things. Get back on the horse and try again, you learn from your mistakes :)
  22. Ugh, creepy.. I would have locked myself in a room without the spider and waited until my partner rescues me. If there is one thing I'm terrified of it's spiders, even the tiny teeny ones. They say that killing a spider is bad luck, but we usually take our chances. You are brave, lol!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
