I just finished reading the Random Thoughts Marti submitted and I made me think of this potential topic. Marti as most of you know is rewarding herself with a Trip to Florida - it was one of her reasons for quitting smoking. So I want to know what rewards people have in mind for themselves - it doesn't matter if you are quit for 1 day, 1 month, 1 year or 10. The fact remains that each of us are saving a bunch of money for not smoking anymore - why not reward ourselves and our families. My next reward for me is a Trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to visit my Brother - after that I plan on taking my kids to Bear Lake Reserve in North Carolina Mountains. After that who know but I plan on rewarding myself and family for staying quit. (One day I will even take my dream trip to Ireland) So how are you going to Reward yourself and Family?

Marti - we all have random thoughts at times - your resolve is very strong just as you are too. Florida is going to be such a fun trip - and congrats on finishing your course. Are those the only 2 reasons why you quit? I am just curious - see now I am having random thoughts. I personally think whatever the reason for the quit is just the beginning - it is there to motivate us to make a positive change within ourselves -the reward is achieving the goal. Now that you have finished that part of your journey (or in 5 days when you get to FL) I would say find a few more reasons to stay quit - maybe next year you plan another trip you have always wanted or something else. You just gave me a great idea for a topic -not sure how it will be perceived or received but you will get a nod either way for making me think of it. Hope you have a great time in Florida you certainly deserve it.

I owe it to myself as well and of course my kids - they deserve to have a healthy father- not sure I would have been able to do as well as I have though without the people here - a few stick out of course some make me laugh my arse off, some provide incredible insight and perspective, plenty others are just as inspirational as well.

Hey Tom - this is your healthier self - remember me and how happy I made you. There is no reason or excuse big enough to throw away your quit. Do you remember how bad your clothes smelled and the time and money you wasted - can you even remember the promise you made to yourself about not letting your children down. Do you recall your first post on this site..... here let me remind you "25 July 2014 - 09:39 PM Hi guys! My name is Tom and I am 39 years old and have been smoking for 25 years. I have 3 amazing children who have been asking my to quit smoking for a while now. They are coming back from vacation next week. I have set my quit date for Sunday morning so that they will never see me smoke again. I am truly humbled by everything I have read on this site and I am finally ready to become a non-smoker. I quit for over 1 year at one point but did so for the wrong reasons. Now my goals are very clear and my desire to be smoke-free is not in question. I hope that it is ok that I am 1 1/2 days away and that I do not offend anyone that I am still a smoker for this moment and yet I am on here sharing my intentions. I just felt like this was the place for that kind of support. I have told my closest friends over the last week that they will no longer have to out up with my bad habit after tomorrow night and they are waiting to see if I can follow through. I know I will and I look forward to sharing ,y 1st hour, week, month and year etc in doing so. Anyway, that is who I am and this is what I have decided to do. I admire all of you and look forward to being where you are soon enough!' There you go - do you ever want to go back and start over - no I didn't think so - be proud of your accomplishments and rely on your QT family to pull your head out of your arse if you find yourself in a bad way.
