  4. A few years back my daughter, who was around 6 or so at the time, had her headphones on and was in the back seat of the car singing away. My husband and I were in the front talking and not really listening to her sing. Suddenly my husband stopped talking and turned down our music and told me to listen to our daughter. She was loudly and proudly singing " all the shinga rays" over and over. I tapped her on the leg and asked her what she was listening to and she let me hear the song. I had to correct her and tell her they weren't saying "shinga rays" they were saying " all the single ladies". We still tease her about that.

  11. You are only 8 months quit. Now don't get me wrong, 8 months is awesome but 8 months is nothing compared to all the years you smoked and last year at this time you still smoked. That means when you left the busy store and felt relief that you made it out safe and without incident you replayed your mental tape from last year where you smoked after leaving so this year everything stayed the same EXCEPT you don't smoke now so it's normal for your mind to wander to smoking thoughts.

  15. It may help you to look at it as your dreams are the last resort your addiction is using to try to get you back. It is so desperate that it'll use the only thing you can't control, your dreams. Remember though, you are in control and laugh it off because its attempts reek of desperation.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
