  1. Welcome @Patti Congratulations on over a week smoke free. These first days are the toughest but it does get easier and life as a non-smoker is worth any early struggles you may have. As Jillar posted, there is a lot of education and support you can get here. You are doing a great thing in quitting.

  5. Welcome, @feeling_patchy You are making a great decision in quitting smoking. Prior to quitting smoking for good, I attempted to quit three times by switching from regular tobacco cigarettes to vaping. Each attempt lasted less than 2 weeks and I felt I was vaping more than I was smoking. I started feeling sick, nauseous, and eventually decided vaping was not a good way to quit. I can't speak for the patches as I did quit cold turkey but I do know there are a lot of others on this site who did quit that way and I'm sure they can give you good advice. The most important thing is, you are putting the cigarettes behind you. Use what method you think is best. You are doing a good thing in quitting smoking.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
