  1. Congratulations Nikki! That is awesome. Keep up the great work!
  2. I'm sorry for all of what you are going through, Linda. I know that must be a really rough family situation. Still, as others said, you need to not let that impact your quit. You are doing an awesome thing by leaving cigarettes behind you for good. Quitting smoking can be really difficult in the early days but it does get a lot better. I personally think it gave me a better life as it made me a much stronger and happier person. Quitting really is a great thing that you can do for yourself and do not let anyone else drive you to giving up on that.
  3. Congratulations Jayhawk!
  4. Congratulations Weegie!

  13. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore.
  14. Yeah, those early days can really suck. There's no way to sugarcoat that. Still, the reward for making it through this time is huge. You will start to notice all sorts of positive benefits, some expected and some not expected, and eventually you will realize that you are living such a better quality of life than you did when you were a slave to nicotine. You just have to make it through these times first but it is definitely worth these early struggles. Stick with it. You are doing great, Jacki!
  15. This is normal, Nikki, but it sounds like you are doing a good job of educating yourself about the nicotine and thinking pro-actively about how to fight through craves. Early on in my quit during my free time, when I wasn't on the boards, I tried to spend as much time as possible at places that I knew I would probably enjoy but knew I couldn't light up at. Also, I tried to reward myself for keeping the quit. These things vary from person to person but definitely make sure to treat yourself well for the great job you are doing by putting smokes behind you. You are doing a fantastic job.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
