  1. Lots of great advice already given. I'd like to second Doreen's suggestion in reading Allen Carr's book and doing so with an open mind. It really helped me see that smoking did nothing positive for me at all and life was much better without it. Seeing and embracing this truth really helps people in quitting for good
  2. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore
  3. I'm sorry to hear this, SamDy. It is best to quit again as soon as possible. I would suggest right now. You can't unfix your mistake today but your quit does begin after your last cigarette. Yes, you may have an empty feeling early on but things do get better the longer you are smoke free. And yes, post all you want. If it helps you, go for it. Don't be afraid to reach out.
  4. NOPE Happy Friday everybody
  5. Welcome to the site, SamDy. You are doing a great thing by quitting smoking. I was afraid of quitting too but it is very doable, and definitely worth it. Education about nicotine addiction and support from a site like this really helped me. Read up on nicotine addiction and reach out to us when you need help. You are taking your life back from nicotine addiction. That is an awesome thing to do.
  6. Congratulations on 3 years smoke free, @reciprocity I hope you are getting better and hope to see you sometime soon.
  7. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore.
  8. There are all sorts of things that feel odd during the early stages of a quit. As others have said, if you are concerned, it is always good to see a doctor. If nothing else, the doctor will probably be happy to see that you have quit smoking. Congratulations on 15 days smoke free. That is a big accomplishment.
  9. That is horrible, Jill. I am glad you are home. Rest up and I hope you have a peaceful recovery.
  10. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore.
  11. NOPE - Not One Puff Ever.
  12. It's great to see you back, @jillar
  13. Awesome name, @HAL 9000 Even a more awesome decision to quit smoking. Welcome to QuitTrain. There is a lot of support and knowledge you can gain here. Read and participate often - it really helps.
  14. I work for a state government agency. Places like this are the true definition of a bureaucracy. There are some highly questionable people leading things here. I know of several IT Project Managers who openly admit to "not knowing the first thing about computers." You are already more of an IT expert than the people I just mentioned. Congratulations.
  15. NOPE - smoking sucks! Mondays suck too!
  16. Congratulations on 5 years smoke free, @Runfree That is awesome!
  17. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
