  1. Welcome back, Pumpkin. Stick close to this site and it will help give you the support you need to quit for good. Life is much better without cigarettes.
  2. Welcome aboard @Beachmom23 and congratulations on deciding to take your life back from nicotine addiction. There is plenty of knowledge and support you can gain here to help you stay smoke free for good. It is nice to have you here.
  3. NOPE - Smoking is horrible.
  4. NOPE - Smoking sucks!
  5. Good job fighting through this, @Sunshine59
  6. Keep up the great work, @AndrewAsh
  7. That's what worked for me. I made multiple attempts to quit, mostly cold turkey. I tried to quit by cutting down (bad mistake). I even switched to vaping a few times (even worse mistake). One day, after yet another failed quit attempt, I stumbled across a quit smoking support group similar to this one and participated regularly. The support, knowledge, and accountability really helped me quit for good. My advice is to put your last cigarette out, commit to NOPE (Not One Puff Ever, there is a section on this site where you can pledge daily), participate here and reach out for help if you are tempted to smoke. Quitting smoking may be tough but it is definitely doable, as the folks on this site can attest...and life as a nonsmoker is much better than life as an addict.
  8. NOPE!

  13. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore.
  14. I'm sorry to hear about your relapse BA. I'm glad you are quitting again but as Jillar said, what are you going to do differently to guarantee success? I had a number of quit attempts that I failed at. Joining a support site like this and promising myself that I would reach out to the fellow members if I really was tempted to smoke helped me quit for good. Accountability can really help you quit smoking.
  15. Welcome aboard, Andrew. A lot of great advice has already been given. I had issues with insomnia too but they should get better with time. Keep up the great work. You are making it through the toughest part and things do get better.
  16. NOPE - I don't smoke anymore.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
