  8. Glad you are feeling better, Michelle. Regarding your ticker, I do see tickers on my laptop but not on my phone. I guess the tickers do not appear on phones.

  10. Welcome aboard, Matthew. You are doing a great thing in quitting smoking. Life is much better without cigarettes but it can be tough at first. A key thing to remember is that a crave is not a command. Craves may be strong early on but they do go away as long as you DON'T smoke. Fighting through these craves does make your quit stronger too. With time, craves become weaker and further between until smoking really is no more than a memory. Remember that you are doing a great thing and these early struggles are worth fighting through.
  11. That first day smoke free is a huge accomplishment for every quitter. Keep up the great work!

  16. Wishing you a fast recovery, Michelle, and keep up the great work in your quit.
  17. Welcome aboard, @Steven Drojensky and congratulations on deciding to quit smoking. Educating yourself about nicotine addiction and reaching out for support is what helped me and you can find the same support and knowledge on this site. I would definitely suggest sticking close to this site. Also, if you haven't done so, check out Allen Carr's book "The Easyway to Quit Smoking". People have different reactions to this book but it helped me see that smoking did nothing positive for me. Everything with smoking is negative. Once I finally accepted that and realized I was missing nothing positive by not smoking, quitting did become a much more desirable goal. Sazerac has an excellent post about how to navigate this site and to use it to help you in your quit. The link is below. Welcome aboard. You are doing a great thing by quitting smoking.
  18. Congratulations Mona! You are doing great!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
