  2. Congratulations Jeff! That first week is the toughest. Keep up the great work!
  3. I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina. The other members' posts are right. The best time to quit is as soon as possible. There are always going to be stressful situations but you cannot let that dictate your quit, if you want to quit. While it may be tough early on, quitting gives you more control over your life and may also give you the strength to face other tough situations life throws your way.
  4. Congratulations Jenny! 5 years is fantastic.
  5. A lot of what you are experiencing and going through is normal, Jeff. Just keep taking it one day at a time, continue to read helpful posts and sharing with us what you are going through. Keep up the great work. You are doing awesome.
  6. Welcome aboard, @Intown28 You are doing a great thing in quitting smoking. Stick around, there is a lot of knowledge and support you can get here to help you stay quit.
  7. That's awesome, Mona! I'm really happy for you. Keep up the great work!

  9. NOPE - Smoking sucks!
  10. Get well soon, Jo.
  11. Welcome Jeff, I smoked for about 20 years and made several attempts to quit over the past few that did not stick. I know that frustration all too well. What finally helped me was joining a support site similar to this one, reading, participating often, reaching out for help as needed, and helping others as well. Support and accountability can really help. Stick around. Read and participate and please reach out if you are on the verge of lighting up. Quitting smoking is very doable and is truly great thing to do.
  12. Congratulations on 9 months smoke free, @ekptr Awesome job
  13. That is great to hear, @Kate18 Great job fighting through this. Just remember that nothing positive at all can come from smoking a cigarette. It is all negative. You are doing the right thing by staying quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
