    Isaias

The storm seems to be weakening but I'm still following it since Raleigh is in its path. It was just downgraded to a tropical storm as I posted this. Sometimes, though, strong tropical storms tend to be much bigger flood threats. And, of course, these storms can always get stronger again. Isaias is an interesting name, though. I've been amused by meteorologists pronouncing it several different ways during the same weather segment. Local news network WRAL does some pretty good hurricane coverage. https://www.wral.com/weather/hurricanes/
  3. Congratulations John. You are doing great!
  4. NOPE
  5. This sums it up perfectly for me as well. I missed out on a whole lot in life either sneaking out or flat out hiding just to smoke and appease my nicotine fix. It feels great not to have so much of my day centered around worrying about how I can light up my next cigarette.
  6. Congratulations on 4 years smoke free, Andy! Great job!
  7. Good for you for posting about your struggles. Some days are easier than others early on but you are doing great fighting through this. What am I up to? Working from home and following weather reports of Hurricane Isaias as it appears to be heading in my direction. Like everything else, a cigarette will not change that. Keep the quit - you are doing great Michelle.
  8. Congratulations on your first week smoke free, Steven! Keep up the great work!
  9. You are doing great, Steven. You also made some great points. Cravings only last a few minutes. Fight through them and your quit gets stronger. One day at a time and one minute at a time is how it gets done. Just keep pushing through this and it will get much better. I'm glad you want to keep your quit. That is what will make you successful in quitting for good.
  10. That's so true, Linda. Just take it one day at a time and don't worry about tomorrow until tomorrow comes. You are doing great. Congratulations on 12 days smoke free.
  11. What Jim said. ^^^ First off, not knowing how you are going to get through quitting is a troubling sign. Believe that you can quit. That is very important. Any smoker who really wants to quit can do so. There are plenty of ex-smokers on this site who have proven that by quitting for good. Stick around this site. Read all you can about nicotine addiction. Post a lot here about your experiences, struggles, etc. We've all been through this. Education about nicotine addiction and support from fellow quitters really helps. You can get both here.

  15. Congratulations on 11 day smoke free, @Linda I'm sorry about your other health issues but you are right....smoking will not help. Keep up the great work.
  16. You are doing great, Steven.
  17. NOPE!
  18. Congratulations on 2 weeks smoke free!
  19. Glad you are feeling better, Michelle. Regarding your ticker, I do see tickers on my laptop but not on my phone. I guess the tickers do not appear on phones.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
