  1. "What a long strange trip it's been" - sums up 2020 perfectly.
  2. Welcome aboard, @Kms1968 Congrats on a month nicorette free. You are doing a great thing by putting nicotine behind you. What you are going through sounds normal with quitting nicotine. Stick around. There is a lot of support you can get here to keep your quit going strong.
  3. NOPE for Halloween
  4. Nope
  5. A lot of us have been at the same place you are at currently, Matt. Believe us, it does get better. Stay focused on not taking another puff. Nicotine addiction is both physical and mental. The physical part ends fairly quickly (usually the first three days....they are tough but doable). The mental part can cause you to struggle longer, though. I didn't see how long you had been a smoker but I assume it was for a number of years (like a lot of us). It takes a while to get the mental part out of your head. Smoking was a routine, a crutch, etc. Over time, you grow more used to being smoke free, mentally, but smoking thoughts and craves sometimes pop out of nowhere during this "no man's land" time. Keep going strong. I know it is frustrating but it does get better. It may not feel like it but at 95 days nicotine free is great. Keep up the great work.

  14. Congratulations on day 4, Christine. Weekends were a bit tougher for me early on but making it through smoke free is very doable. Try to keep yourself occupied and keep reaching out for help here as needed. You are doing great.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
