Welcome to the site, @prichy I'm sorry to hear about your relapse. 10 years quit was a great accomplishment. Yes, Coronavirus has impacted so many people in such different ways but smoking will not make anything better. You successfully stopped smoking for 10 years but now is the time to quit for good. You can't fix what happened in the past so don't dwell on it. Just focus on quitting for good. You must have seen some sort of positive in order to go back to lighting up. Please believe that there is nothing positive to be gained from smoking. Please visit the link below that gives you tips as to how to use this site and read up on some quitting resources. I'm sorry for your relapse but you can still quit for good. Stick around this site. There is a lot of knowledge and support here.

I collected baseball cards as a kid. I think I might have his rookie card.

Smoking dreams can be scary and I had quite a few long after my quit. It is good that you saw this as a warning though. Things do get better with time, as I'm sure you have seen, but as nicotine addicts, we must always remain vigilant. Congrats on doing so well with your quit. As Jill said, I'm looking forward to your first year quit mark too..

Yes, it is about money. Couldn't agree with you more about investment groups and metrics. Metrics were what was used to argue that the Jose Quintana deal made sense at the time. Javier Baez's contract comes up at the end of next season, as does Kris Bryant's and Anthony Rizzo's. It is assumed Bryant will be gone. Rizzo and his agent tried to negotiate a "team friendly" contract extension last off season and the front office delayed it. It will be interesting to see what happens to Baez who is the face of the franchise now. It doesn't look good.

What you are experiencing is often called "junkie thinking." As nicotine addicts, our mind is constantly trying to trick us into seeing some value to smoking so you can get your next fix. This psychological addiction is sometimes harder to fight than the physical one but the only thing you get out of a cigarette is that next nicotine fix. The fact that you are waiting for bad news to force you into quitting shows how messed up the addiction is. Fight through this. In time, things will get better. You just have to realize that nothing at all positive comes from smoking. It is solely about feeding a deadly addiction. Congrats on doing so well with Day 1. You can do this!
