  11. Welcome aboard, Gus, and congratulations on 9 days smoke free. You are going through the roughest days and what you are experiencing is normal for many quitters. The important thing is that you remain resolute in your quit as things do get better with time. Stick around. There is plenty of knowledge and support you can get here to help you keep your quit for good.

  13. Jeff, I've done the whole stop smoking for periods of time and then relapse thing too. I don't need to tell you that it is torture. If you smoke, you will hate it and regret it and, with time, plan another attempt to stop/quit. Don't do that. You are already pretty far into your quit but believe us, it does get better. It may take longer for some than others but things will get better. Do yourself a favor and fight through this. Keep the quit. Nothing good will come out of lighting up a cigarette.
  14. I've been in this situation several times before. Beer, with friends who smoke, while trying to quit smoking. I had several short quits before quitting for good and alcohol was part of why I allowed myself to relapse. You can enjoy situations like this WITHOUT smoking. Trust me, if you light up, you will regret it. Keep the quit, Linda.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
