I love what Gus said . I'm an old quitter yet new and you are just quit three months and so inspirational to others and myself included . Thanks for being here and congrats on three months quit .
-
I'm thankful you are here as well Gus and everyone . It takes a village to raise ex smokers haha and we got a great one .

Everyone's immune stystem works differently so understandable that reactions may be different as well . We are all unique .I really had no reaction my 1st dose or second dose and hopefully those little warriors will do their job if I need them. Pfizer here is available to 12 years old and up now . We are still as close to lockdown as we can be without full lock down three more weeks when it will be re evaluated . My second dose should be as effective as it will be , next week . Two weeks post ) It is a relief . Still keeping all in thought for those trying to get their shots . Grateful for all those front line workers giving them day after day , hour after hour ,. It's pretty smooth going here once you get an appointment . Continue to be safe everyone . Thinking of every country battling this . It's heart breaking .

@Gus did you post a pic , because I don't see it but do see a bunch of numbers . Is it from my end ? Good job on your walks as well ... every step further is one further than before right . Great job . Osaat .

2 40 min walks lol one in each direction .. took weights with me this time , little harder work out lol . I didn't realize how much harder , so it goes without saying less weight is easier to carry around . I want to lose five lbs so will carry five pound weights on alternate walks for a week ( weather permitting ) .. let's see where it gets me ha . Happy gal with a one pound loss or happy with less flabby muscles lol . Not picky , but do want results .. Going to keep following all your guys lead . You all rock !

The more I wonder around this site , the more I like it . It's a perfect fit for a successful quit . So many good tools to access for help , education and receive support . So many areas to distract oneself from smoking or to learn from others as well as give back . So many positive and real posts from ex smokers with new and older quits to identify with . No sugar coating but completely honest testimonies , and an understanding between us , that is more than a non smoker may ever or could ever understand . I love the way it's sectioned off where you can talk about your quit in one area , educate yourself about addiction in another or get out of the smoking fixation and into just having fun with fellow members to distract yourself from smoking and get to know them . There is something for everyone . There is a place to pledge if one finds that helpful , a notary celebrations section to see your own progress and others progress ; a games section and educational videos ... well the list just goes on and on . Love it ! If you are not a computer savvy person like me , in my opinion it's easy to understand and not too hard . You can use what you need to start a quit confidently and comfortably or grow and try to learn more . What aides besides NRT aides things did you look for or are you looking for to help you be a successful quitter ? Everyone is different . I came to a quit site to quit smoking . I did not have success in groups . We are all different . Testimonies helped me a lot in the beginning and were exactly what I was looking for . They helped me to see the journey ahead would get better and that I was not alone when my days were rough . Newcomers and elders testimonies all made a difference in me keeping my quit . Games ha ... lived in games .. can't tell you how many hours I spent in games day and night . Any humour I could find I wanted and needed desperately in the beginning and it so helped . So to all you funny people out there thank you . Wish I had your gift but I'm grateful for yours . That's about all I did the first year .. my next years I really got into the education part of addiction , researching addiction , celebrations , giving back and pledging . I wished I'd done them all in the beginning in hindsight , but perhaps that was not meant to be for my success to shape . Again each of us will be different and there is no right or wrong . I stay now because I need to for my quit and want to stay for others quits . I am also getting to know people here and again who would have thought but because of covid we once again have something in common . We are in this together and together we will get through this . One day at a time . Signed Abby

Well this morning is slow moving . Blah ! Blah ! Every excuse in the world not to go for a walk but none that are real convincing even to myself lol so I'll get my rear in gear in 25 minutes and head out for my walk . If I would have had one slice of toast instead of two I wouldn't have to walk so far lol . Must think of that before eating more than is necessary for good physical and mental health lol . The positive is that it is a gorgeous day out . The leaves may actually fully bloom with the rain coming tomorrow . Yay !

Another day of nope , another day of (hmm ) _? _ $ saved . I wonder how much cigarettes cost now .. last I heard here they are better than a $ 100.00 a carton . Of course I'll say nope . Happy to say nope . Buying my train ticket cash when Covid is over and heading west to the mountains Yup !

Just a reminder myself and for all . When does the load get so heavy you crash ? Do you give in . No . You don't have to like how things are. You can feel like the pain is unbearable , you can be completely alone in life's trials and you can feel like smoking will help , but smoking won't make anything better . SmokIng won't change a dang thing . Smoking is the wrong action to take . No matter where you are in your quit day 1 or 10,001 if you give addiction permission it will take that thought and run with it so just remember smoking is not the answer . Never Ever . Distract , delay , discuss , take deep breathes , drink water , don't smoke , don't give up . Do something different , do keep the faith , do post , don't smoke .

Hi @Janice I'm glad you are here and that your friend helped in a time of need . Everyone above is awesome and has given a wealth of knowledge and information . I know for any surgery smoking is the best thing you can do for healing and once you get the freedom train ride bug and get comfortable you will want that beautiful trip on freedom train every day . It's real . Life is so much better without a cigarette in hand . Abby .

April 30 . Two months to go to ten years quit . Heck nope . Not gonna train wreck a quit. Not one puff today , not one puff tomorrow , not one puff for the next two months. One day at a time with quit train and crew .

Hugs Linda. Keep going . It may seem like two steps back but getting through will bring you forward . Smoking will only bring you back to having to redo those days weeks and months that you have so worked hard for. It is not worth it to let them go now. Keep posting ok , its no bother . Anything you have to share whether new or repeated is what you are needing to do for you and your quit . We are here for you a million times over .
-
Nope not worth it . It's too costly financially, physically and emotionally . I'll take my freedom thanks and keep it .

Sorry to hear about your friend . It's hard but I am so glad she quit smoking years ago and glad you've quit smoking now . Cancer is not selective. It can hit anyone anytime , smoker or non smoker . Twenty five years quit is something to be very proud of . Not many are able to do that and it shows me that your friend is a strong person . Because she quit when she did , she had many years more that she was able to spend with good friends like you . You and she are blessed to have each other . I'm sorry she is alone because of this stupid covid , but one thing covid had taught us is it won't stop us from comforting one another . Even an old fashioned letter like the good old days can be a welcomed gift in the mail and bring a smile . Hearing cancer is hard for anyone and I'm sorry . I know you will continue to be in each other's hearts and be the strength that's needed for each other . What a wonderful friend you are to her and she to you .
