  1. Hello nice to meet you. I carried a pouch of tobacco with me, wherever I went for about two or three week's, for me, it was like a safety blanket. I do know other people that quit that way, but it isn't textbook. If you have discipline and are really determined to quit, that way can work, but be careful! Having cigarettes so easily accessible Can be very dangerous. It can be as dangerous as drinking alcohol too early on in your quit, even though some people do seem to deal with this trigger easier than others. I hope you are still going strong? Remember to post if you need anything's.
  2. hahaha! Cristian Grey! None of the above but good guesses. It actually stands for Tractor Girl. I'm a football girl, love it ( soccer to some of you). My beloved team is Ipswich Town who's nickname is the Tractor Boys, but I'm a girl so changed it a bit. You can have a tub of fried chicken for your marvellous guesses.
  3. ok Christian Grey I will use my other username, that I use on another forum Darkside of the moon has changed to TG! If you can workout why I am called TG you might win a prize.
  4. That pretty cool, god knows what I will get.
  5. You started it Leroy!!!! I was formally known as Sunnyside but decided to move to the darkside, it is more fun.
  6. You have good taste Jake
  7. The dark side is all powerful!!!!
  8. Warrior, you have hit that time when your last cigarette is now far enough away, that you can't remember what it really is like to smoking. What you have in your head is not the reality of smoking, you don't want that cigarette, not really. Stick with us Warrior, keep taking it day by day, keep yourself busy and try not to give the thought of smoking any head space. You are a non-smoker, you don't smoke anymore, there is nothing to think about, keep saying that to yourself. Four months is awesome by the way and here's to your first smoke-free Christmas since you were probably a kid x
  9. Cookie I'm so sorry about your mum but alcohol has just clouded your judgement tonight. You have coped so well through a difficult time already, and i look on your with awe at the way you have managed to abstain from smoking though it all. Don't let alcohol spoil it. Cookie be strong you can do this.

  11. So sorry about your mum cookies but fantastic work on staying quit, that really shows commitment to the cause, which is needed at times.
  12. Bakon I don't begin to understand you spmetimes!! I am sorry for your lost. It was very kind of you to share this because sometime it is post like this that can have a real impact. So thankyou and take care of the both of you x
  13. Pancake you won't have the thoughts that you are getting now all the time, and it certainly won't take 25 years to sort it out. You have a better frame of mind than I ever did at the start. I just couldn't let go. I walked around with a packet of tobacco all the time for the first month. It scared the hell out of me. I hated it but I didn't, if I could only smoke occasionally but I couldn't. Time is an amazing healer, just keep ignoring the voice, just keep taking it day by day and one day you will stop and realised ' I haven't thought about smoking today, it does rear it head every so often now but just a memory, a split second thought that get's dismissed very easily. It is annoying that we have given son much time and money to the tobacco companies. But there's nothing anyone of us can do about it now but move on, I use to play hockey when I was younger but I don't anymore, I use to smoke too but I don't anymore

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
