  1. Well done Natalie. Braver women an me.
  2. Congratulations DD, Two years is awesome.
  3. Doing a party on your third day of quitting is a very hard position to be in, if it your party the major thing would be to make a big effort not to drink alcohol and make people aware if they aren't already that you are quitting and if people see you with a cigarette in your hand to stop you. If you can get through this night, think how proud you will be, keep going, you know you don't want to go back.
  4. Lovely to meet you Natalie and welcome to your new smoke free life 2016!!

  7. It's great isn't it! I remember last year been really concern about Christmas, but this year I have just been sitting back and reaping the rewards of being a non-smoker. Have a great Christmas
  8. Day three was horrible for me too and lots of others have too. As others have said keep busy, take it an hour at a time if you have to! just do anything to get through the day
  9. Awww such a shame, glad everyone is fine!! Insurance is a good thing but they just look at the item as ballpark figures. But you can never put a price on something that is loved, cherish and has all those memories. Gutted for you, hope you find a car for your new memories x
  10. Michelle, nice to see you back! Remember that whatever happens, you don't want to keep doing this, all the withdrawals won't last and this will be so, so worth it.
  11. I'm now off work until the 4th January. We will be going to my MIL Christmas eve, but it rest of the time it will be a nice quiet. Presents all wrapped and and food is all done. I hope you all have a great Christmas x

  16. Ridiculous isn't it. I have stop thinking about the money I have wasted, but it do like to look at my ticker every so often because at least those stats are in my favour.
  17. I found it hard, but by keeping going now I can see that I certainly didn't make it easy for myself either. As much as I wanted to quit. I hadn't properly let go of the thought of smoking. I had read and read about how cigarettes did nothing for me, and i could see it and understood. In the back of my mind I still believed I was missing something. I would even visualize smoking the taste and smell and screw my face up at the thought of it. But that thought was there and it wouldn't go away. When i hit a year I felt like a weight had been lifted but my brain was trying the 'you have quit now, so let celebrate and have one!' Soon after the year I had my last big paddy and actually did my own head in focusing on smoking. I decided there and then, that was it I am done with smoking. I suffered with anxiety and depression through it all of which I'm still on meds for. I have to say though I did make it harder on myself and when I finally stop thinking of myself as a smoker I became free. Mind set isn't everything but it really does help. Pancake you are definitely in the zone.
  18. Pancake nice to see you post! If I was you I would stay close to the forum for awhile as Bumble has said you have had a relatively easy quit by your administration and that can sometimes be more of a hindrance, I have seen many a person fall for the 'I can smoke tonight and quit again tomorrow.' Also please get rid of that cigarette it will be too tempting. Saying all that, you have done amazingly well to get where you are, read scoke in the information here again. No good ever came from smoking and you will see that one day! Just keep going and think how much better thing's are for you now you have quit.
  19. Might keep mine as it is as I use it on other sites. I thought it might feel weird using it on here but it sort of feels right. I'm confused with master bates? Who was you before?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
