  2. http://science.howstuffworks.com/nicotine.htm Sorry link didn't post in last posts this is it.
  3. I'm pleased to see you are going to talk to your GP. This explain exactly how nicotine works which may help you out.
  4. Karen, I don't suffer with BP but I do suffer with PTSD. My experience was around 6-8 week I had the worst anxiety which had me running to my GP fast, I don't mind admitting it. I hadn't been on meds for years but when I stop smoking, it was like a mask lifted from me and all of a sudden I was exposed. Go and see your GP Karen, even if it is only for a chat. Let him know that your are quitting, so that if you sink in that black cloud he will be keeping an eye on you. I will tell you my secret of how I got through. Post, no matter what. It doesn't matter how often and weather you are moaning all the time. There is three reason why posting works. 1)You have let out what you are feeling, that is always good. No one will judge you here. 2)You haven't acted on impulse, it gives you time to think properly. 3) The support you will get is immense, as you well know already. You can do this Karen. Just cling on and we will carry you through.
  5. So nice to read this Karen, you can do this!!!
  6. Nice to see you back Karen, as the others have said, maybe you should jump right in? Whatever you decide, we are here for you. Remember the rule, SOS first, never act on impulse. If you give yourself a minute or two to think about relapsing I bet you don't. A waiting your next move x
  7. Enjoy!!! Look forward to hearing all about it when you get back ;)
  8. Sorry Carlos, that you makes a mistake. But well done for getting straight back on the train. I would do what others have suggested try and stay away from alcohol for awhile, and then break yourself back in gently.
  9. Congratulations, that is brilliant :)
  10. I'm on a phone Pancake, I just click on the last page, which say 1662 and then scroll down to the last post.
  11. I suffer with anxiety and depression. Exercise really helped me through early on. It temporarily boosts feel-good chemicals called endorphins. You don’t need to run marathons to get a benefit. Just walking a few times a week can help.
  12. Blimey, Pancake, that gone quick. Amazing Milestone you have hit there, brilliant, well done :)
  13. Congratulations B, I love your wise words :)
  14. Wow 50 day already!! Congratulations :)
  15. Isn't it nice when people start taking us seriously and be inspired, that they too could do this :) Keep leading the way.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
