  1. Nice post!!!! For me NOPE is my Moto now, but in those early stages. I would wake up and tell myself "I will not smoke today, tomorrow will take care of it's self" If it was a good day great! Tick it of on the calendar as another day done! If it was a bad day, take it hour by hour. There are lots of things you can do NOT to smoke, distract yourself and keep busy all day. At the end of that day treat yourself to something. It doesn't have to be big, something just to make you smile. By doing this technique day after day, week after week and more, you will win this.
  2. Congratulations to you!!!! :)
  3. Congratulations Paul, 3 years is fab :)
  4. Good for you!!! Remember actions speak louder than words ;)
  5. I have turned myself into a runner and finally managed to run 5k!!!

  6. Nice to see you back on that horse :)
  7. Evelyn you can PM me anytime it is hooked up to my email. I work until late, so really don't mind if you need to talk to someone x
  8. Big congratulations from me. I have always loved reading your post, you have always sounded so assured in your quit :)
  9. I will always encourage you Evelyn but it doesn't matter whether we chose tough words of soft. It's only you that can make this happen! I believe in you, as do others here. BUT you have to believe in YOU. Click on the writing as I can't get it to go bigger on here ;)
  10. love this post!!! Congratulations TAC :)
  11. Indigo, sorry to see you lose your quit again. You have to start again as soon as possible. All you are doing by holding off, is making it harder for yourself. Now, remember there is a big difference between wanting to quit and being really ready to quit, you have to get yourself into the latter's mindset. With your post, all i'm reading is junkie excuse's!! There is only one thing smoking will give you if you keep smoking, it will be nothing enjoyable to you either. Come on Indigo YOU CAN DO THIS!!
  12. I had to go on anxiety meds and antidepressants because of the anxiety and depression from quitting. The good news as Jenny has said it your body will stabilize. I have now come off the medicine and i have taken up running to get those feel good enzymes back. I would go and speak to your GP, and hang in there.
  13. Nice post Doreen, I smoked because I thought I enjoyed it. It was just me. No more though, I love being smoke free too much :)
  14. For one don't apologise for an SOS, that is what it is there for. If you can, take yourself outside. Control your breathing and picture yourself in your favourite place. You know that a craving only last about three mins. Whatever else you are having to deal with can wait. Put yourself in a better place in your mind. I promise you things will look better if you take some time out. Evelyn you can get through this, you are strong, step backwards just for five minutes. Then forward again.
  15. Congratulations Corey, amazing work :)
  16. My cough has gone, I use to cough daily. In fact some people knew me by my cough!! I have taken up running again. I've been doing the 5k app. As I have been progressing through, I can feel and taste the gunk coming out of my lung. It's disgusting but great at the same time.
  17. Congratulations Porkandpancakes you won the game :)
  18. Congratulations Petra!!! 3 years are awesome :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
