  1. Nice ticker ;) I agree about people seeking support long term - I think that building a strong foundation for your quit, and participating in a community of ex-smokers like this one, go hand-in-hand. I have seen statistics somewhere that people who participate for at least 1 year, have a far greater chance of staying quit for good. Plus, you will probably meet some great friends along the way :)

  11. Sally... how is it possible that you have only been with us for less than a month... well, technically, you have been with us much longer, but you know what I mean. It feels like you have been here with us the whole time (which of course, you have!)... I am so, so happy that you have reached out to us, and you are already a wonderful and strong part of our family - thank you for being here with us ;) I'm glad that you are painting again, and hope that you are getting some lovely time to yourself in your courtyard. And I hope that your foot/paw is almost healed. If I'm ever in the neoghbourhood (Tasha always wanted to go to New Orleans), I'm definitely gonna come and see you and have one of those great sounding Sazerac's :p Happy 11 months my friend :)

I would say that I like the colours... and the fishing 'aint pad either ;)
  13. OK... Her trousers (pants) are WAY too tight, and I saw things I wish I hadn't.... Shudder...
  14. The strange thing is... That I've bookmarked this page for future reference...

  16. That's the fighting spirit you need! Please, you are always welcome here - it sounds like you beat yourself up enough already - no need for is to add to that - no judgements, we only want to help you ((Laura))
  17. Sue... My quit buddy, it's feels like I've known you forever, but in reality, it's been less than one year. But what a year! Through the many highs and the not so many lows, you've got to this point - when it is only 7 days until your quitversary - 7 FREAKING DAYS!!! I am hoping that we can have some fun over the next week leading up to your 1 year - I'm gonna dig up some nice posts and put them here for all to see :) hoping that some others will join in too :p Thanks for being a great quit buddy :) Let the countdown commence :)
  18. Hi Nat, it is a difficult subject to discuss, because there are so many unknows! There are some people here who used them to help quit, and others I was just thinking the other day about the regulation and safety of then, when I saw some e-liquid in a £1 store on Saturday! Anyway, I think you've got a great quit going, and I think that you will be a great influence for your sister to follow :) Big hug :)
  19. You should be proud of yourself - very proud indeed! 19 days (sorry, I said 28 earlier) is amazing! I will tell you that 3 weeks was a hard time for me, but after I got through that, it got so much better, very quickly! I am glad that you found us, and that you have reached out to us by posting an SOS - plenty of us here to help you through the bad times! How are you feeling now? What benefits have you noticed most since you quit?
  20. Hi Jules, congratulations on 28 days!! I just wanted to let you know I am here... About to type out a longer response, but it might take me a while on my phone!! Please bear with me ;)
  21. The creepy and scary thing for me is... They obviously didn't choose the children for their musical ability... At the age of 0. So how did they know that they would be capable of achieving the level that were required? I dare say that they didn't, so potentially, how many children did they put through these vigorous teachings?!

  23. OK Wendy, great to meet you, and super-congratulations on 4 days - that's just teriffic :) Nice to know that you have been with us for a while, and that you have re-started your journey to find your forever quit - rhis could very well be the one ;) It's great that you are having a relatively good quit so far, and I guess that you just need to stay positive, and vigilant of what might be around the corner... now that you have reached out to us, please do not be afraid to post as often as you like (just look at our Sazerac!), and use the SOS feature in an emergency! I look to travelling this journey with you, and hope you are having a great day ;)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
