    WTH?

    Utterly ridiculous...
  5. Nope!
  6. The old 'Ah-ha' moment... Excellent news :good: Honestly this will get more and more common to the point that the ONLY time you think about smoking is when you think 'huh, I just got through something without thinking about smoking' lol Congratulations on 24 days, that's a pretty long time in my book :)
  7. Nope over here
  8. Nope Wonder where Ria is today?
  9. Was in town at the weekend, and saw a young family; a couple (maybe mid-to-late twenties), with a little boy, who was maybe 4 or 5? He was smoking what looked like an ecig, and he seemed to have divised some sort of game where he would take a drag and then proceeded to blow as much smoke/vapour into the face of his kid as was humanly possible... Am I the only one to think WTF?! Obviously I couldn't tell you if there was any nicotine or not (but let's face it, there probably was), but what chance has that poor kid got - nicotine dependency at 4 years old? I wanted to go over and punch this guy, hard. Tasha told me best not to. I know when we were smokers, we could think of examples of doing stupid selfish stuff, but this guy took the biscuit. I hope he gets caught by social services... Or someone who's wife doesn't stop him doing something about it... /rant over!
  10. Nope!
  11. Congratulations on 3 weeks - really top job :fabulous: It does sound like a combination of the nicotine withdrawal and less sunshine in general. It will get better, day by day :)
  12. Nope!
  13. Thanks. No baby yet, but I suppose it could happen anytime now, just waiting for the call! :) I only really collect tapes released prior to time that the BBFC started certifying stuff, so released in 1983/84 or earlier. As you can imagine, it's getting harder to find them in good condition, being more than 30 years old! :fabulous:
  14. Where in the world are you? Hampshire, England When and how did you quit? Almost 25 months ago, Cold Turkey, using an App and forum. Did smoking affect your health that you know of? Yes, decreased fertility, among other things  Has quitting significantly improved things? Yes, everything in my life is better than it was as a smoker :good: What is the last music album you bought? Bob Seger & the Siler Bullet Band - Greatest Hits Are you a parent? Any day now, gender unknown ;) Tell me an interesting fact about you... I collect old tapes (VHS and even BETA). Expensive hobby, now subsidised with my non-smoking ;) What is your current job? Office Team Manager for Finance/Technology company.
  15. Very true Doreen. I'm 99% sure that if I hadn't joined a quit smoking board, I'd still be a smoker. And with that would come a lot of other negatives. I'm fairly certain that reaching out and making contact with an online community has completely transformed my life for the better. That is no exaggeration.
  16. Hi P&P, although you are asking yourself questions, at least now you have done something positive about it - doesn't matter WHEN you quit, only matters that you HAVE quit. You will start to feel very, very positive about that fact soon :) You are doing great by the way :good:
  17. Happy birthday Colleen! Have a great day!
  18. Nope
  19. Very true Tracey. Even after 2 years, I still consider myself an 'addict'. It's easier to avoid cigarettes that way :good:
  20. Yes, the throat thing sounds very normal indeed. Just your body doing it's healing thing :) Congrats on your Karate belt :good:
  21. Congratulations on hitting the 2 week milestone - it's a big one! You have overcome a lot these last 2 weeks, and each time you dealt with a situation without smoking only makes you stronger. Good for you, and long may it continue (hopefully forever!) :good:

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
