  1. 2 morning, all
  2. Sally, I hope that you head doesn't hurt too much, today! Pleas share with us what you did for the big day, yesterday!
  3. Wow REZ, it's hard to believe it's been a whole year, isn't it... SO MUCH has happened in that time! I think it's fair to say that, without question, your life has been changed for the better by quitting smoking :d You have been a great friend to me, and many others during your time, selflessly running the local paper, and encouraging people with their quits :) And you have made Tracey happy, which is fantastic, too! Hope to meet you over here, one day, and we can all have some drinks and good times together :) Have a great day, and I hope that Tracey spoils you today!
  4. You can do this, Rowley!
  5. Have a great holiday, Marti!! NOPE for me :)
  6. Ah well, OK... I may have hated it so much that I blanked the entire experience from my memory... Speaking of HOT chicks in movies, I found this one earlier, which I think you will appreciate - SCHWING!
  7. Oh beacon, I'm sorry this is happening to you... I haven't had the phantom cigarette thing happen to me, but it sounds rubbish :( You already know, but I will say it anyway - smoking will not help with your diet. Smoking will kill you, and that's one of the reasons we quit in the first place. Have you spoken to a dietitian about your diet? I guess just like when we quit smoking, we've got to look at the positives, and not the negatives. Try to find good that you like that is good for you, rather than think about all the food that you can't have... I hope that someone else here is able to help you more, and I hope that you feel better, soon. Let me know if you need anything :)
  8. I didn't think that there was anything good about that remake, lol... Honestly, I hated it!
  9. Just going through my video (yes, I still watch VHS!) collection, and I would consider these some great horrors:- Chopping Mall The St. Francisville Experiment Dream Demon Next of Kin Schizo (might also be know as red playroom) Link <--- killer ape movie ;) Poltergeist Ghost Town Castle Freak <--- highly recommended Night of the Creeps Basket Case Witchboard The Stuff The New Kids <--- for goodness sakes, track down this movie and WATCH IT! Has an extremely young James Spader and also Tom Atkins (from The Fog) - one of my favourite movies of all time!!
  10. V/H/S was good... Liked the scene in the hotel. Not seen the second one yet, but it's on 'the list'. Agree with Humbled about Candyman... Wowsers I never could stand in front on the mirror and chant his name, terrifying!! And Cujo... Personally I thought the film was pretty lame, but the book was even worse - yawn, lol
  11. Jeepers Creepers... thought it was awesome at the beginning, but the demon thing just underwhelmed me a little... but this was a long time ago. I might have to try it again... I sneakily watched Scream with my sister when I was a young'un, about 14... probably the perfect age to watch it. I couldn't remember seeing anything quite like it before, and I got hooked on slasher flicks after that... I have watched every one that I can get my paws on, I must have seen many hundreds by now... Have you ever seen The Initiation? That is one of my favourites. The Burning, also... Madhouse, Terror Eyes, Sleepaway Camp... so many good films, and so many BAD films, lol. Going to go through my collection later, and tell you my favourites that I can't think of at the moment ;)
  12. Just 1 more day...
  13. That's because I'm Colombo ;) He doesn't live in Germany.
  14. We are here for you - whatever you need, and whenever you need it :)
  15. Way to go MG!! Brilliant, how are you feeling today?
  16. Great to read that you are firmly in control, no matter what :)
  17. Reene, congratulations - 5 months for a lovely lady :) I am so happy that you have 5 months under your belt, and that you are enjoying your smoke-free life :) I know that you are super busy at the moment, but hope to see you posting again soon, as I miss seeing your kind comments. Hope that you have a great day, and do something nice to celebrate!!
  18. Good For you Laura! And really good to see you - how are you doing? (besides feeling alive and stress-free)
  19. Joe Soap, lol... don't worry, I'm sure that DD will still find the time for all us Joe's ;) :P I actually hadn't noticed until you posted this, lol congrats DD
  20. I suppose that I wouldn't have listened either, while I was still a smoker... it's such a hard thing to talk to a smoker about, without sounding like an ass... IF I do talk to people about smoking, because they start the conversation, I always try to be positive, and say all the great stuff that has happened SINCE I quit, rather than tell them how bad it is to smoke... Don't know if it works, but hopefully I've planted some seeds in some peoples minds...
  21. My dear Sally… is it possible that I have only known you for less than 2 months…?! Maybe the fact that you knew all about me before I knew you has made our friendship grow more quickly, but it already feels like I have known you for a lifetime! And today you are celebrating your 1 year of freedom. 1 whole year since you decided that you would not let cigarettes make your decisions for you! And I am so happy that you made this decision and that you found us, AND that you signed up and joined the family you were always destined to. You are a very special, kind, caring and loving (and smutty, lol) person and we are very lucky to have you. Thank you for sharing your sense of humour and your art with us so freely. I am hoping that you will be staying with us for a long time to come – you have touched so many of us in the short time that you have been here ;) When Tasha and I finally decide to travel to New Orleans, we will be looking you up, for sure. I hope that you do something spectacular to celebrate today, and that there is room enough in your tardis for a few guests, as we will be partying in there today. Time for a cocktail, I think I will have a Sazerac :P So glad to have met you and love you very much
  22. -5 Sally, come and post backwards!
  23. Generally I would say that the old stuff is better than the newer stuff, but I do have a soft spot for most horror. Love the Scream movies, even if they are tacky. Saw Annabel the day before yesterday, which was good. One modern film that was REALLY good was Drag Me To Hell... If you haven't seen it, then watch it :)
  24. Good one Evelyn :) NOPE from me too :)
  25. All of this sounds very normal to me. It is true that once the zits go, you will have the best skin you have ever had! And the thoughts diminish over time, too. I know it might be hard to believe right now, but eventually they will all but fade to nothing, and you will go for weeks without even thinking of cigarettes! (((Slovenka)))

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
