    Day 2!

Sarah, Marti had a great idea there - write up a list of all of theose great things you want to buy yourself, and then if you feel tempted to smoke, look at the list - would you rather all of those wonderful treats, or a stinky cigarette? I have a wish list on Amazon, and I pretty much buy myself something every few days - sometimes small things that only cost a couple of quid each, sometimes bigger things if I haven't bought anything for a while... You have reminded me to go look at my list - I think I deserve a treat ;)

    Day 2!

Hey Sarah, You are exactly where you should be, and crying is really good - cry to your hearts content! So yeah, day 2 can be a toughie... but it is not impossible. You already did day 1, which is by far the hardest. Now that you are a non-smoker, you have to work on staying a non-smoker. We have a thread here where you can prerespond to your own SOS - http://www.quittrain.com/topic/259-pre-respond-to-your-own-sos/ - basically post here exactly what you would say to yourself to stop you smoking in a moment of weakness. I think it would be really helpful to you also if you read what others have said... you will see that we are all completely different in approach, but with the same goal. Just so I know, do you like tough love or a softer approach? I want to help in anyway that I can :) EDIT - CONGRATULATIONS ON DAY 2!!!!
  3. I look forward to them ;)

  8. Wow, 7 months is a really great achievement - you are doing so well and I am really happy for you! I hope you do something nice to celebrate ;)
  9. Good morning - NOPE.
  10. My mums staff didn't make any noise whatsoever. It was like a chemical weapon - no warning, but if it happened and you saw the speed at which the room emptied you would think the house was on fire or something! Never smelt anything as bad as that...
  11. Happy Birthday Suz !!!!!!!
  12. Hi Trish, sounds like you made it through, and with flying colours too. You really do have a great attitude considering all that was fling on! I recommend that you stay close to this board for the weekend, and basically strap yourself in and prepare for some major triggers. They might never come, but better to be prepared for them if they do. And go any read the answer you wrote to respond to your own SOS :)
  13. Hi Iam, can't believe I missed this yesterday :( Sorry to hear that you smoked, but happy you are back! Quitting smoking is not an event, it is a journey. That's why we are all on this train together. I'm glad that you hopped right back on and that you aren't smoking again. Please come here each day and pledge to nope as I think it really does help you get through a tough day when they happen.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
