  1. Coming from someone who has never had health problems, and was at the hospital today, please please please join; if only to post and intorduce yourself. You will not regret it. :)
  2. Congratulations Tracey... I am so so so happy for you my friend!! 5 months is amazing
  3. Haha I saw it when I was a kid and it was terrifying!! Here is the synopsis: 'Eleven-year-old Charlotte Burke, the neglected daughter of Ben Cross and Glenne Headley, passes out on the school playground and dreams of visiting a house she'd previously drawn in her composition book. She imagines another visit to her 'paper house' while playing hide-and-seek. Experimenting, Burke draws a figure in the window of the house; the next time she dreams, she meets a young boy, as lonely as she. Convinced that she wields a large degree of power in her pencil, Burke draws a picture of her father, Cross, hoping that in doing so he will return home...' Apparently based on the novel Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr, which I am going to now have to buy and read lol. Sorry to hijack your thread Jackie!!

  6. Yes newbies, introduce yourselves - Marti is looking forward to making you feel right at home ;) Great idea for a thread Evelyn!
  7. Hey Marti, I am a real dreamer and often they are quite vivid. Sometimes I do the old try to make a decision before I go to sleep to possibly affect a reoccurring dream. But what I do not do is draw pictures about it... Have your ever seen the film Paperhouse?! Lol
  8. (((Jackie))) they are pretty bad aren't they? I know all about the relief when waking up. One more than one occasion Nancy has been in my dream with a tennis racket... Or is that a nightmare?!
  9. You are where you should be and your body is still looking for the new 'normal'. One without all the toxins and positions. You have been through a lot these past 6 days, and remember that it is called Hell Week for a reason! Tomorrow will be better, promise ;)
  10. OK so now that's done it was just some chest X-rays and a few other things.. Quicker than I imagined. But now I've got to wait? Ugh. Up to a week but my GP will tell me sooner if it is anything serious. I hate waiting for stuff... At least I've got the dentist to look forward to later lol Thanks again all - my love to everyone
  11. Yep sleep is all over the place in the early days. Now it has settled down and I have a new normal. I wake up earlier than I used to, but I all feel like I have more energy now. Perhaps the sleep I do get now is 'better' or something...? Anyway, it turns out well :)
  12. Me too Evelyn, NOPE
  13. Congratulations!! Doesn't it feel great to make it 6 months!! You are doing really well - proud of you buddy :)
  14. Sending Dottie my love for her 'snip' today.
  15. Thanks everyone, just going through all the replies while I'm waiting... It helps a lot! And ((hugs)) to you too Julie.
  16. So I've had a cough for what seems like forever. I'd never developed a smokers cough in all my time as a smoker. And now here I am, 7 weeks with a cough I just can't shift. Been to the doctors already and tomorrow is my trip to the hospital for whatever they want to check for... so I've been waiting for this for about a week and I wasn't really worried until doc said I have to go to the hospital... never been to the hospital for ' tests' before and there is this advert (commercial) on the tv which keeps saying to get checked if it's longer than 6 weeks... ok so now I'm a little worried :( OK so it's probably nothing but I just wanted to share in case anyone has any words of encouragement or wisdom to share (I sure could use them right now lol). Got to be there at silly o'clock in the am too, so I'd better get some sleep :( And to make matters worse I am also scheduled to have a trip to the dentist in the PM where I suspect that he is going to want to rip one of my teeth out (even though it's his fault for some shoddy work last time I was there). And my boss doesn't know about either appointment yet and its the first day back after a long weekend, so tomorrow is just going to suck big time... I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
  17. Well done Evelyn :)
  18. Bug you sound like you quit years ago, not months! You are such an inspiration to many of us here :)
  19. 'she told me she will quit smoking if it’s not cancer… Well, after the new year, she found out there was nothing there, she was ok. She’s still smoking with no plan to quit.' That is probably the saddest thing I heard all day. Firstly that she would carry on smoking if it was cancer. And then carrying on smoking regardless... There was something horrible to watch at work recently. A guy who was trying to quit smoking... So he didn't have any cigarettes and thought he would be safe (haven't go me can't smoke em)... Then a girl who is a 'casual' smoker fancied a cigarette, but didn't want to go outside and smoke on her own. So she went to the shop, bought cigarettes and talked him into going outside to smoke. I know he choose to do it (and it didn't take much convincing - free cigarettes!), but boy was I mad :(
  20. Sooo, how are you doing with this Tracey - are we still a 'go'?
  21. Huge congrats Sue... I mean Comrade Simba!!
  22. Nope for me
  23. Oh yes, was thinking about this earlier, but then got too carried away with the football! Look forward to hearing the report on Dottie Doreen :)
  24. Oh yes, I was thinking about her yesterday! Soozie we are missing you! See you soon :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
