  1. Based on prior posts from you, this sounds like a good thing. It might not seem like that now, but it will soon, I am sure of it. You certainly gave it a good shot, but your children's happiness is very important. ((Paula))
  2. Oh wow, Dors, 3 months already?! You are such a great character, and we are all so lucky to have met you. Your attitide and personality are second to none, and I am very happy that you have this lovely quit, because you deserve it :d Maybe you shoud have a party this weekend to celebrate?!
  3. Wow Beacon, my no-smoking cat friend, you haven't smoked for 9 months, that is 3/4 of a year!! I am so so so so proud of you, and I want to thank you personally, for being there for me every time I needed you (just like you are there for everybody else). You are just awesome, and we are very lucky to have you here with us! Love you, my friend, let's have a party
  4. Good for you. It sucks, I know, but the only way to beat it is to push through and not smoke. When you wake up tomorrow, you will be so glad that you didn't smoke!!
  5. Please tell is how you are when you can. Don't give up!!
  6. Brittany, have you got some time? Why not look hr and see how we would all respond to ourselves in this type of situation - http://www.quittrain.com/topic/259-pre-respond-to-your-own-sos/ For the record, screaming or punching someone is better than smoking (although try to avoid the punching one lol)
  7. You are strong enough, because you've already done the hardest part! It gets easier each day. You are strong enough. We've been there, we know what it's like! And don't take any crap from your innerjunkie about 'not being strong enough' or 'should have weened myself off them' or 'just one won't hurt'... You are a nicotine addict, and just one will start your withdrawal from the very beginning again. And that would be a living nightmare (quite literally)
  8. Brittany... Smoking will do nothing for you, except make you feel like crap. You think you feel bad now, you will feel 100 times worse if you smoke!
  9. Wow, you were polite Jackie... I probably would have hit him... Good job not smoking though!
  10. Please let us know how you are doing Brittany!
  11. You still have nicotine in your system... It does all leave until 72 hours. So you have a fight on your hands. But you are strong enough. Look at your responses to yesterday's SOS while you wait for the calvary... You are stronger than your addiction, I promise tomorrow will be better

  13. I posted this in the hug your cat thread, but think it belongs here too...
  14. How did I miss this?! Luckily, my cat HATES being hugged, so I didn't miss out on anything. But I found this picture a minute ago, and this cat looks like it loves hugs, lol
  15. That is very awesome of you Marti. You are a great person, and anyone would be lucky to have you as a quit buddy :)
  16. Hi Charlie, thanks for telling you story. And congratulations on being a non-smoker for so long.
  17. Where am I...?! :(

    Oh Hail!!!

Yes, it's been longer than a second Petra, where are the pictures?!
  19. It's not good keeping secrets!
  20. Nope :)
  21. That was excellent Bonnie, I hope you feel great that you finally got rid of them! Sarge, MQ, I love what you did there! I'm pretty sure I had about half an open pack and about 5 or 6 unopened packs left when I quit. I had planned to quit once they were finished, but we all know how that story ends... So I gave them to a colleague at work. I wish I'd just chucked them, but oh well, they are gone all the same.
  22. Has anyone ever told you you get up too early... :p I know smokers kind of stink, don't they. I used to think that I was the exception, and it was all the other smokers that stank and not me. What an idiot lol.
  23. Great work Brittany! If you can do one day, you can do forever, because you only ever have to take it one day at a time. And the hardest day is always the first one ;) So, there you go. You are officially a non-smoker. Pretty cool huh :d

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
