  1. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that you like the colour blue... ;) I have to admit, that yours in the best looking hut there, and the inside is so homely! It must be great to get to go there just for a day, here and there when the weather is good... I can't believe that there are no other people in the photos!
  2. I will join you, NOPE :)
  3. Congratulations Mason!!!
  4. Way to go Jay! One day at a time is the way to do it, for sure. Just make the pledge to yourself, each morning, that you will not smoke, just for today. It really works :) Congratulations!
  5. Super-mom is Petra (not saying that Marti isn't a super-mum too, oh boy...) BB is Tracey - can anyone remind us again why?
  6. Missed you too Jackie :) Glad it was fun :)

    2 1/2 months have passed

It's really (really) great to see you Amy. My one piece of advice for you today is - it's better to try and have a chance of failing, than it is to not try at all - you can't win the lottery of you don't buy a ticket... Give yourself that chance, and we will do everything in our power to help you get to where you want to be; a nonsmoker :)

    Help!

Babs, people seem to remember the bad stories, rather than the good ones. The good things happen so often, they are never mentioned! Just think how proud you will be when you see him off, all dressed up in his uniform. Remember what he is giving up is for his country, so everyone will be thankful for what he is doing! And, won't you still be responsible for your husband?! :p I'm probably not the best person to give advice on this, so have some (((hugs))) lol
  11. Yippee!! I am so happy for you - you must be over the moon!!! Congratulations on pasing first time :) So, now you have to go out and get a car?! Hugs!
  12. So, I was in town, and I could smell a cigarette. Apparantly so could the little American girl stood near me, she said to her mum something like 'eww, mom, someones smoking!'. The mum replied, 'yes, but we can't say anything to them here, it's not like in Texas...' I'm glad she wasn't talking about me So, I was just curious, what are the smoking laws in Texas? In fact, let's try and include everyone; what are the smoking laws like in your state / province / country... and how did they affect you when you were a smoker, and how much have you noticed them since you quit? In England, you can smoke outside, pretty much wherever you want (a few exceptions, you cannot smoke outside the front of a hospital anymore, on train platforms, etc). You cannot smoke inside unless it is a private dwelling, or you have the permission of the person who owns the private dwelling. The only place I think that you can smoke 'indoors' here, is the par in the houses of parliment (hypocrates). The same goes for vehicles, as you are not supposed to smoke in public transport, or company owned vehicles, but you can smoke in your own.
  13. Way to Go Sandy, you are in double digits now - 10 months quit! You are doing great, and would love to hear from you and see how you are enjoying your summer - read any good books lately? How is non-smoking life treating you?
  14. Happy Birthday Joe!!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day :)
  15. Big hugs Cher, that is such a hard thing to do... In situations like this, I try to remember that it was the kindest thing to do, and also how happy you made them when they were still with you. Not sure anything else I can say will help, but I am thinking of you.
  16. SIX !!!!!
  17. I just want to give you a big hug Tiffany... I know it's hard, bit smoking will not help your dad getting older. Life happens, and we just have to make it count and create some wonderful memories for the future. And nonsmoking memories will be better than smoking memories!
  18. It feels like freedom :) I can't remember being this happy, ever!
  19. Way to go Sarah!! You really are a tiger :)
  20. Sarge Babs? I can't imagine who Elton John is.... lol ;) Super-mom BB
  21. Does Jackie know that she isn't considered the Queen of Scotland?!
  22. Jenny Wiley ... Ava?
  23. Susana, I truly believe that the harder the quit, the more likely you are to keep it... If it was easy, then it is easy to throw it away. If it is hard earned, then you really (really, really) don't want to loose it, because you've earned it with blood and sweat and tears :) From where I'm sitting, I have a good feeling about your quit this time :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
