  1. Stay and post all you can. We are here for you (and we all love cats, especially Bakon)
  2. OMG YOGI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So great to see you!!!!
  3. Jay, coffee affects you differently when you don't smoke... firstly, it tastes much stronger. Secondly, the caffine affects you more. I can honestly say that I enjoy coffee way better now I don't smoke, but I can't have it after mid-day! That said, if you don't feel comfortable at the moment, then just don't drink it. MQ is a great example of enjoying your morning coffee without smoking, so hopefully he will be here soon ;)
  4. You are right Susana... everything you just typed is junkie thinking! Smoking will not make you feel better - it will not help with your massive workload, and it will not do anything positive, what-so-ever. This is the worst junkie thinking there is - 'I´m tempted to ditch this cursed quit, and start afresh and cold turkey later on.' There is no such thing as 'later on'! You know this already, otherwise you would not have posted! You are at day 10, and still in heck week... it's supposed to be hard - the big tobacco companies make is so, otherwise no one would smoke (because NO ONE enjoys it). You did really well by not smoking while your friends were there for the whole weekend! You are doing great. Keep posting and reading, and I PROMISE that it will get better...
  5. Sorry I missed the Evelyn - hope you are having a better day today :)
  6. Action?
  7. Sometimes I just go out in the garden, bring a beer, take a seat, and just do... Nothing. It's exactly the same that I did before minus the cigarette, and I love it ;)
  8. I don't know of I look down on smokers... But I do pity them.
  9. Good for you Marti's mum :)
  10. Good for you Gabby :) A NOPE from me too :)
  11. Congratulations Joe, really happy for you :)
  12. I thought I was sitting next to you...? ;) You can do it guys!
  13. Great to see you Christa :)
  14. I was going to try to say something profound... But the handcuffing to the bed comment has taken awayy ability to do so :p Glad you are feeling better :)
  15. I will join you - nope from me :)
  16. Great advice Tracey... I had no prep, because my quit date wasn't planned... But 2 weeks after, I had -online support (reading and posting) -quit buddies -chewing a load of gum -playing with a 'tangle' -walks -doing stuff around the house (DIY, cleaning)
  17. Yep... :(
  18. You are doing great Susanna!!!
  19. What a great post! You really have come on leaps and bounds - really happy for you :)
  20. TIffany, sounds like life to me - you said yourself, 2 days ago you were happy, now you are stressed - I bet tomorrow or the day after, you will be happy again... And not because of smoking. Life can be stressful with or without cigarettes. You've already done the hard part - the first week or so is the hardest, and you don't want to go throughout that again. Smoking won't stop you working late. In fact, it will probably make you work later because you keep taking one breaks! You have a choice to make now - smoke of not smoke. I've seen hundreds of people say they wished they hadn't smoked... I've never seen anyone, ever, say that they are glad that they decided to smoke, because every single person regretted it. (((Tiffany)))
  21. That is just great Susana. We are all really happy for you. I love the fact that you are turning things that some might consider negatives, into positives - it's so refreshing to see!! You are going to rock heck week, just like you rocked hell week :)
  22. Congratulations for a week of freedom, and for passing your test - what a great time you are having in your life right now - a week to remember, for sure :)
  23. I am really proud of you H, and I am loving reading your blog - please keep it going ;) Congratulations on a month - really, really chuffed :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
