  9. Congratulations Tom! I too quit two days before my quit date. I was fed up with it. The first days can suck. But they are over and dusted and you´ll start feeling much better after two or three days. Take notice of the benefits and congratulate yourself every night for going to bed as a non-smoker. Best decision ever. You´ll see :good:
  10. WOW Hari! I almost missed this!!!! Well done, mate! 8 monts is AWESOME! :good:

  15. It´s 2am and I´m going to bed now... thinking "oh, I´m fine, I should have gone out after all" noooooooo! Better to miss one night out than to risk ruining my quit. Thank you for bearing with me! A nice song to wish you good night, my friends :give_heart:
  16. I remember... one night I relapsed... not because I was drinking or drunk... because I didn´t care for my quit, so I threw it away...like that. It did sound like a good idea at the time, so maybe I was a little drunk after all. Then in the morning I woke up... "bloody smoking dreams".... "hmmmm... I can even taste smoke". :shout: The realisation it was NOT a dream..... A W F U L Never ever ever EVER again I want to feel that again. N.O.P.E.

  18. I am firmly assured that I DO NOT WISH TO SMOKE EVER EVER AGAIN. But I´m afraid that I may have one mojito too many and lose grip. So, here I stay. I should have posted this in "social" because it may be a long night...
  19. I was doing great and thought I would be ditching the gum this weekend. Well, I had a friend for lunch. She is one of my best friends, super-healthy, non-smoker, vegetarian, intelligent, rich... but hyperactive. VERY hyperactive. (What is the opposite of "calming"?) We were supposed to go to the bars tonight, but I´m not going anywhere. I am craving and I don´t want to be anywhere near cigarettes tonight. No way. So I have opened a bottle of wine, and I have 3 gums left. Oh what a night! :-)
  20. Housebound. Wine, gum and PC.

  21. In a more serious tone... I´ve signed in for a 5K fun run on the 2nd of August. Yep. That´s next Saturday. I started training about one month ago, but then somehow I got busy and stopped. There is no way I can go from "running" 2K to running 5K in one week. But I will show up and will run for as long as I can run, then I will walk, and then I will crawl if necessary. But I´m doing those 5K
  22. I don´t need to exercise... I got this! Sorry.... I didn´t know where to post it... it made me LOL :laugh2:
  23. Why do you make it look like beer? :search:
  24. Joe, your stats are great. Just make sure you take it easy and you don´t injure yourself. I also signed up for a fun 5K on the 2nd of August and there is no way I can be ready. I haven´t been training for two weeks now and even though I will go back to it next week, I will not be able to run it. I will walk it. I will crawl the last K. But I will start at the "start" point and stop moving after 5K. And so will you. We have to start somewhere. Keyword "start". The vulture pic... :focus:

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
