  8. Hi Marie - from memory I think people were commenting that you were obsessing about the cigs and as a result you were not able to let go of the smoking thoughts ?? I think it is natural for us to think about smoking early on ... I mean we were addicted for so long. But what was important for me was to recognise the thought, acknowledge that it was happening and then move on ! Don't get me wrong - moving on wasn't always easy ... Sometimes I crawled, other times I cried and more than often there was a lot of yelling at hubby, but what I did everytime was reaffirm that I did not smoke, think back to why I quit in the first place and most importantly know that my will to quit was stronger than a short term crave !! I also used this board - not just SOS but random, often babbling posts - anything but smoke! Others will be able to express this more eloquentlu than me! But I know you can do this ... You just have to believe and commit xx

  16. Friday evening here - watching footy ( Aussie rules so pretty sure I am the only one doing that !) with a glass of wine. The rest of the weekend is a bit of wait and see ...farmers market, hike, gym - only thing I am pretty sure about is that there will be some wine ! :-)
  17. Last few days been working hard - weights and cardio ! Am currently doing a gym challenge and just redid my beep test .... 6 weeks ago I was level 5.1 and today I was 7.4 ... So I must be doing something right ! Now if only there was a test for the quickest way to fill a wine glass I would be an Olympian ! :)

  25. Michelle you have just shown how strong you can be so I know that you can do this :-). Craves are normal early on - you just need to acknowledge them and then let them go .... Great job on ignoring that urge and recognising that you need to stay close to the board :-)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
