  1. Keep going! You can do this. I see we are very close in quit time so we can compare notes, lol :)
  2. No smoking for me today - NOPE!
  3. Lol, not much candy but just about any other sweets- donuts, cupcakes, cookies :)
  4. I'm feeling great, even though I had to work today. Starting to get my energy back and wheezing is almost gone. Our bodies are amazing, as long as we don't smoke :)
  5. Congratulations!
  6. Congratulations!
  7. And ps: The black and white cat is just the perfect accent on your purple coverlet :)
  8. Awww...come on now, you are not a novice! Absolutely gorgeous and looks professional! Love the wall color in the hallway, and wish I could think of a room in my home to use it  We did our stairs last summer and what a job that was. We removed the carpet because we wanted to paint the steps and add just carpet runner down the center. Our home was built in 1902, so of course some of the steps needed to be replaced. Hubby had never replaced steps before. Thank God for youtube, lol. Got them finished and love them. Isn't it a great feeling to see how your home comes together? Being able to say "we did it ourselves" is the icing on the cake. Nice job!
  9. Nope!

    Day 4

Day y 4 is down and dusted. What I really need to think about now is patience. This is what got me into trouble in my previous quit. I can't hurry to my new normal, it will just happen when it happens. So Sandy chill out! Had a couple thoughts of smoking today, but really nothing serious. Oh, and boredom. I need to be careful of that. Smoking is what I did whenever I was bored. My plan now is to try one of my alternatives such as getting on the forum to read. This quit really does feel different this time. I never want to smoke again. It offers absolutely nothing. What a waste of my health, time, money and every other aspect of my life it affected. Well, enough rambling. I can go to bed tonight and be thankful that I am a non smoker :D
  11. I'm doing great. I had a little burst of energy this morning, so I cleaned a few windows. Sometimes keeping busy helps. Now just drinking a big glass of ice cold water to help flush out the last bit of nasty nicotine.
  12. Yay Tom! Glad to hear you've quit! I spent my first day reading here. Post if you have any questions. And remember cigarettes do absolutely nothing for you. Just this one sentence has made my quit so much easier. Just look at all you have to gain, besides the obvious (health). Your family will be so proud of you. You are a non-smoker :)
  13. Welcome Victor, I see you have already quit, that is awesome! Stay close to the boards and read, read, read. It will help you understand this addiction and also pass the time. Good luck, and you can do this :)
  14. Nope, I will not smoke today.
  15. Hi Tom and welcome! I just quit yesterday. I worried so much before I quit but the truth is that quitting is not nearly as stressful or as difficult as all the time I spent worrying about it. I truly believe it's mind over matter. My frame of mind is that I am not giving up anything, and I have so much to gain. Read all the helpful information on this site. Education is key! Congratulations on the best decision of your life! Sandy
  16. Hi mtbj! Nice to meet you too!
  17. That is wonderful Mari! You are a great inspiration for your Mom :)

  19. Hi Sue and Jackie! What a nice warm welcome :) I think I'm gonna like this place :)
  20. Hello and nice to meet you Chrispy!
  21. Hi Trish. Nice to meet you!
  22. Nope - No smoking for me today.
  23. "Every day done is a day you never have to do again" ^^^^^^^^^^ My mantra :)
  24. Hi and thanks for the welcome! This has to be my final quit. It seems like I have been trying to quit all summer! No more trying, this is it. Taking my freedom back :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
