  1. Welcome! I am also using Chantix. It has been a real help. Finding this board has been a godsend! Here I didn't have to be afraid to admit that my previous quit attempts failed. Although my quit has been pretty smooth sailing, if I hit a bump in the road the Quit Train folks are here for me. I just know you'll love it here :) Thanks for bringing your balloons along for celebrations :)
  2. Welcome and it's great to see you here Whack!
  3. So proud of you Evelyn! We are back from the dreaded haircut with my grandson - he was actually really good this time :) Have a good night and again, you -we- got this :)
  4. So happy for you Tom! You made it to the 3 week mark. It's onward and upward from here :) Congrats! Sandy
  5. I'm taking my grandson to get a haircut today. He's almost 3 years old, so it's always a challenge to get him to sit still  Have a good day Evelyn and keep on going! We can both do this :)
  6. Awesome! Keep us posted. Oh, what's for dinner? It's breakfast (morning) here, lol
  7. Sorry about the asthma. Maybe just walk around the house and do a few exercises. Television and facebook and reading here would all be good distractions.
  8. I sometimes just take a short walk to clear my mind. Being outdoors, breathing fresh air all seems to help. Especially now that we can take DEEP breaths :)
  9. Smash a pillow Evelyn :)
  10. Evelyn, We are at about the same time in our quit :) I plan to keep this quit, how about you? No going back for me. I never want to do this again :)
  11. How nice! I love orchids :) And you need to treat yourself along the way.
  12. Good for you for seeing the junkie thinking for what it is - You are doing great Evelyn :)
  13. Happy Birthday Tracey :)
  14. Believe me smoking will not help. All it would do is start that vicious circle of smoke, smoke, smoke again. And I know you are enjoying your smoke-free life. Keep it going! Just NOPE for the next miniute, hour, day, whatever it takes. If I can do this Evelyn, so can you. :)
  15. Nope for me!
  16. Congratulations on 7 months of freedom! :)
  17. Congratulations on 7 months of freedom! :)
  18. Welcome! Congratulations on making the best decision of your life! I came here about 3 weeks ago and put out my last cigarette and have never looked back. Being free of the nicotine addiction is the greatest feeling ever. Stay close to the board here and post if you need help. You can do this :) Sandy
  19. Coffee, give me coffee :) I do enjoy a cup of hot tea once in a great while though. And when out will order raspberry iced tea which is very yummy. Nay Nay, I have had to watch my caffeine intake as well. This Grammy bouncing off the walls is not a pretty picture :) Peppermint just does not sound like my cup of tea. Put a peppermint stick in a cup of hot chocolate and I'm in heaven. Annae go for it - try all those different flavors. You might just come up with one that you love :)
  20. Way to go Evelyn! You are doing great :)
  21. Thanks and keep going Evelyn!
  22. No way will I smoke! NOPE!
  23. triggers are to do with situations or emotions it has nothing to do with smoking Spot on! That is it exactly Tracey, thanks for clarifying that. I need to use this phrase as my new mantra :)
  24. Bloody brilliant (bet you didn't think I could say that, did you?) Love it Marti!
  25. It's a beautiful day to be smoke-free :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
