  1. Congratulations Leanna! Two years of freedom must feel wonderful! I'm so glad to have met you here, as you inspire my quit :) You rock!
  2. That's funny Sharon. We are de-programming our brains as non smokers now. So I'm sure things are going to be a little weird for a bit.

  4. NOPE for me. I don't smoke :)
  5. COPD is a frightening disease. My mother suffered from it. She didn't live long enough for the COPD to actually take her life, but her smoking surely accelerated the heart disease that did take her life. Sorry about your neighbor Beacon.
  6. Nice job Marti!
  7. Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to 2 months :)

  10. Three months is awesome!
  11. I have found so many benefits to giving up cigarettes. Just one of those is drinking just a portion of the diet soda that I drank as a smoker. And that's a good thing! Apparently the soda was almost entirely a smoking thing. But today I did something that just blew my mind! I grabbed a fresh bottle of diet pepsi, headed to the car and got in. Then, opened my purse and was rummaging around - for what? Then I realized I was looking for cigarettes and lighter! OMG! This was done TOTALLY without thought, just pure habit. Of course there were no cigs or lighter in my bag. I laughed out loud and my husband was pretty sure I had lost my mind. Wow, just wow. I had no idea how ingrained those old habits became. So glad I don't have that nasty habit any longer :)
  12. Hi DF! Welcome! I used (and am still using) Chantix to quit. I found it very helpful, and will continue to take it until I feel comfortable enough to quit. I figure if it works, why mess with a good thing? Again, welcome :) Edit to clarify: I will continue to use chantix until I'm comfortable with quitting the chantix. I already quit the smokes, lol.
  13. Thank you MQ for this site, I call my "internet home". To be able to post here and not be afraid of being a failure (I have a relapse record) oh my! Greatest feeling in the world to be accepted by your peers :) People here are the greatest. Just honest support. No drama. Keeps me going forward smoke-free :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
