Bumble hit the nail on the head!!! You CAME here!! so YOU'VE done it!!!!! We are supports... YOU are the controller! and you DID IT!!!!! Your 1st post sounded JUST like me!!! LOL!! sitting pretty I thought, then BAM! anyway, it only lasted a short while, but hell's bell's the strength was OVERly painful, yes? Like Collen said, each time you're craving, come here and be with 'like minded' people... not lecturers, or cocky ex-smokers, no way!! We're ALL addicts in the same boat! NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!!!

I used to practically LIVE outside on the balcony!! well, the mornings anyway..... y'know? the 'coffee cigis' that ended up "just one more"? It's almost a mini 'lounge room' out there, with pens, emery boards, paper, mozzie spray etc etc lol!!! Now I can CHANGE everything out there.. maybe even put down some decent floor covering?....? and I used to kid myself, I didn't smoke THAT much! ha!

for sending me a PM to ask after my well-being! I've been MIA these past few days as a result of a disruption to my usual routine LOL!!! In a nut shell.... My youngest daughter, Heidi, in Vic, with 2 kids, (I'm in South Oz) another daughter in Darwin with 5 kids, and another in Qld with 4 kids, and 3 grandies (yep! that makes me a GREAT grandie) anyway, my 'baby' has a little girl, Lucy, 20mths now, born with Di George syndrome.... Mercifully, her lip was fine.. in fact ALL of her outside is fine, but cleft palate, heart problems, 1 kidney, etc.. means a few ops between now and ...? her first is the cleft in her palate, as that stops her from forming words... at the same time they've inserted grommets into her ear canals so she can hear better too.. ANY way, I've always "popped over" each and every time Heidi needed me, but this time, I couldn't ... so promised I'd "be there" 24/7 via mobile phone! and many a time, we've spoken including 1 morning at 4.30am when a nurse told her "you're her mother, you do it!" in regard to administering pain meds into her mouth...! Well, Heidi is shall we say, "highly strung" and gets upset EXTRA quickly, but all in all, handles Lucy's issues SOO well!! I mean, in the beginning, I was there a lot, so she could sleep, as Lucy would burp and choke (due to the cleft) and so she was afraid to sleep... There's a LOT more, but suffice to say, it was taking it's toll on me.. not the BEING there for her, but the uprooting my 'home' my haven... y'know? and living out of a suit case... no peace.. So this time I 'took a stand', given Josh, my SIL, had 10 days off work, and HIS family is there.. just around the corner!!!! Lucy is recovering well, thank God, and Heidi is doing well, given the circumstances... and I believe that this experience will strengthen her, if that makes sense... This is also for anyone else who's been wondering if I'm ok! and it dawned on me, when I saw the email, that I've been through this rather emotionally taxing time, withOUT cigis!!!! Once again... THANK you Beacon, for caring enough to message me!!! xox :wub:

Aww, Chrispy, xox I live in an upstairs apartment, with only a balcony as an 'outside loo'... plus, there are days I'm not able to leave home... I DO love dogs though! all animals really! ONE MORE SLEEP!!

Nearly forgot..... NOW I can afford to buy, not only a new litter tray, (breeder uses the ozpet method, so better stick with what Dakota knows) but a new scratching post!!! *HUGE SIGHS* it's SOOO amazing being "FREEEEE"!!!!

..... news!!!! I've been luckily blessed to have found a new furry 'flat mate' who will come to live next Saturday! Her name is Dakota, she's 9 years old, and her 'mummy' has been looking to rehome her since May! She's a British Shorthair, who no longer wants to have 'kids'... hehehe! Apparently, she always was a 'silent caller'..... We met yesterday, and we CLICKED like you wouldn't believe! Her mummy was SO happy that she cried!!!!! People have been enquiring about her, and/or coming to see her for a while, but she wouldn't have a bar of them, OR her mum sensed they weren't real 'lovers'... (from the comments they made) Well... she and I are MFEO!!! (made for each other) ... both old, and past childbearing :lol: and yet, still have a little "playfulness" left in us! Her expression 'says it all'! an absolute DOLL!!!!

I WOULD have quit without y'all... (sorry, but I take FULL responsibility for my quit!) just as if I was to ever 'relapse' I'd have only myself to 'blame'..... BUT being here has "educated" me in SO many ways!! plus, you've all made it somewhat easier, being able to share thoughts and concerns and just "vent" at times!!! PLUS, there are so many other threads NOT about quitting... Cats, friendships, bathrooms (lol!) etc!! It's a lovely place to 'be'.... xox xox xox and I LURVE the "N.O.P.E" daily thread! ;)

ME TOO, CPK!!! I do know all that info, but for some "twisted" reason, I kept kidding myself that "one day I'll just quit,like I did last time".... of course, it took 7+ years... anyway... NO WAY is my sister polite!!! lol... she would be the FIRST to say "you stink of smoke" if I did!! plus my massage therapist! I used to get compliments about my fragrance... (well, still do) but yes! I DID hate the stink on my fingers, which is why I ALWAYS washed my hands with antibacterial gel! My daughter also is VERY anti-smoking!! always has been! and she didn't KNOW when I visited there!! I made ULTRA sure, the smoke blew away from me... I smelt it on me.... because I wouldn't shower after each cigi.... I'M OVER THE MOON THAT I'M A NON-SMOKER NOW!!!! Not just for the money... but because I'm FREE!!!!!! (as well as a LOT richer!) P.S... spent a small fortune on mints, chewies etc!!! so no! my breath NEVER smelt!! believe me!!! Why do you think I feel SOOO FREEEE!!!! I was a closet smoker!!! the worst stress you can EVER imagine... and on top of that, I HATED myself for being so weak, pathetic, and addicted!!! Especially given I'd quit for a LONG time 10 years ago!!...
