  1. Hey Marlene Welcome aboard. Well done on taking the hardest step: the first one. You can absolutely do this.
  2. Nice work Stewie. It's important to hang onto some of the memories - just in case your inner junkie turns up at a Christmas party and whispers "One's not going to hurt..is it?" Mine still tries now and again - I remember how miserable I felt as a smoker and how easy it was to throw quits away. Keep on keepin' on!
  3. Hey Hford. Well done. Yes. It will get easier every day. Smoking as punctuation was one for me too. I took to taking a quick walk instead. You are doing great, just keep going.

  17. When not walking...it was always flip fops. (Hot feet!) We managed 192km (120 miles) in six days over some tough ground. One heck of a walk :D Currently lying down in a darkened room...
  18. Great work!
  19. Nice work. :D
  20. Hey Tiff Whether you declare yourself an addict or not, the choice remains. Everyone of us can reach for a cigarette and light it. We choose not to. Are we addicts? Well, yes. but that is not limiting - it is simply an acknowledgement. Am I better or worse than someone who never smoked? Nope. There are plenty of better things to focus on - I'd work on those. You are doing great, however you are doing it.
  21. Thanks everyone! Flying early tomorrow. (Gulp.) Day 1 is 27km straight up through the Pyrenees. www.sensibleshoescamino.com

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
