  7. Ha! I am taking a break from my fitbit and MFP. La Bandita thought it was all getting too much. I catch myself mentally totting up the exercise... "Walked the dog, then did the garden. Went for some shopping and now walking the dog...yep, no sweat easy done 12,500......" I suspect I will get an Apple watch and use that.. (she'll never notice ;) )
  8. Hey Nope. Nice quit. You are holding yourself back. On the anniversary, God may descend from his heaven, fire lightning bolts from his arse and sprinkle you in magic fairy dust, but I suspect he won't. :o You have quit. You did it. Through the strength of your own character, with your own resolve and determination. That is a fantastic achievement of which you should be incredibly proud. Well done you! :D It started getting better the moment that you decided 'this is the last cigarette'. It has continued getting better every single day since. It will continue to get better every day hence. YOU DID IT NOPE. YOU DID IT. Nice work. ;)
  9. Great work CPK. Keep on marchin'
  10. Nice work. :)
  11. Wobble. Healthy eating, a bit more exercise and I wobble less now. :D Thinking about smoking. Reminiscing about smoking. Fancying a cigarette. Inevitable consequences of YEARS of training ourselves to smoke. The Sarge and his footnotes were all about combatting these wobbles with a firm definitive mindset and commitment. They helped me.
  12. Another benefit of quitting....a complexion. I am not one for yoga and the like - but a spot of 'mindfulness' can really help with stress. You can get spiritual about it..or just take a little moment to BE.... Works for me.
  13. Hey MFIC Keep on keeping' on. You are doing brilliantly.
  14. Slowly - I become less wrapped up in 'not smoking.' I remember when every second of every minute was consumed in 'not smoking'. Constantly telling myself that I do not smoke, I do not want to smoke, smoking does nothing for me.........on and on and on. Gradually, I would go whole minutes without being consumed in 'not smoking'. Then 5 minutes, 10, an hour. I remember thinking 'Good Lord. I have had my coffee, walked the dog and I don't recall thinking about 'not smoking' once. Then it became days. As Markus wrote, 'the slogging becomes a happy walk' Life is better as a happy walk. So I keep walking. If I squint a bit, I can just see Markus, Rain, Babs, and all the other quitters before me a bit further up the same road. B)

  17. Marti - they are everywhere. Redser - picket? Not sure - but increasing awareness through Facebook etc....people need to start examining this industry. Knowing who owns it tells me everything that I need to know...
  18. Toughest thing about Quitting? Committing. Once you do that - it gets easier every day. C'mon. Commit. What's the worst thing that could happen?

  22. Hey Carlos. Welcome aboard.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
