  1. Hey ETD. Hopefully this has passed now. It's a craving. I know it can feel like the end of the world, but it isn't. It passes. Take deep breaths, sip water and keep doing what you are doing. You can do this.

  3. ah....now this thread I will follow. The traditional British method of BBQ is to use an open grill so that you can get good flame ups, thereby burning the outside black, while leaving the the inside raw. Fortunately, nobody gets sick because they drink four times their own bodyweight in alcohol - killing any possible bacteria left in the raw meat. I have embarked on the American method. I have bought a 'big green egg' - so that I can start gently cooking, smoking etc. Swordfish sounds nice!
  4. Nicely done! Congratulations
  5. Wahay! Great work. Well done YOU!
  6. Then do it Laura. We are all here cheering you along. (Look out for Marti though...one tough Aylesbury chick  )
  7. Great work ETD! water, breathe.... You don't smoke. You don't smoke. You don't smoke FANTASTIC!

  9. Hey ETD... Great work! you are off and running. Lots of solid advice above. Listen up. I'll tell you a secret. Ready? You quit. You are a non-smoker. How does that feel? Cool isn't it? Simple as that, you are a non-smoker. Well done you. Well done. Now - lots of fun coming, as your body and mind adapts to this decision that you have made. They will adapt. all of ours did. They might give you a little trouble, they might not - but whether they do or not, it doesn't matter. You have chosen not to smoke. Therefore you don't. Did I say Well Done?
  10. Porky. Only you can see your warning point. I know, its disappointing. But we all know that you are really really BAD. Have you thought about getting a leather jacket? Or a motorbike? Maybe get a gun or a tough-guy job like in the Army or the Police.......oh wait a second.......
  11. Hey Laura. Welcome back. Lots of different strokes for different folks. Me? I read the Allen Carr book - The EasyWay. If you haven't read that, I would recommend that you do. For me the great thing was that it allowed me to mentally 'quit' while still smoking. sounds weird - but it is true It sounds like YOU don't believe that you are going to quit. Why would anyone else believe that you are? You can quit. If you want to, you will quit. I know that you are an extraordinary, special snowflake and that it is harder for you. I am one of those too. ;) You can quit Laura. I did. Doreen did. Marti did - hell - everyone here did. People are quitting every day Laura. We can all help you along...but you need to believe.
  12. I'm warning you Porky. How's that?

  14. Loads and loads of golf and dog walks...business as usual. Played 40 minutes squash today. Ouch. I am one of those fat guys that really annoys fit people. Fit people expect to run me into the ground on a squash court but I'm really pretty good at racket sports and deceptively light on my feet The look on their faces during the game really is a picture. Bandito 5 games. Fitto 0 games. :D Gonna feel it tomorrow though.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
