  1. Nice post Sunnyside. It's all very clever this addiction, yet ultimately it is beaten by just stopping....nothing more. Tough yet easy, all in one go. Nope.
  2. Hang tough Cheri. The 'suck' is a pain, but all you have to do is wait it out. Your patience is rewarded. You can do this Cheri.

  17. Another day down Lila? Good work. Well done. Weight gain? If when you get a crave you reach for candy, you will gain some weight. If you do, don't worry, you can quickly lose it again. If when you get a crave you go for a walk, then you probably won't gain weight. Your food is suddenly going to start tasting AMAZING...your taste buds are waking up. That can make you gain weight! Caffeine suddenly is a lot stronger but a lot tastier. Don't worry about your weight, Your body is adjusting to a life with ingested poisoning, it takes a little while to rebalance. You are a non-smoker Lila. You did it. Nothing can make you smoke a cigarette again. Only you can. Don't. You are doing brilliantly, keep going!
  18. Hey Lila Great work getting through the day. Well done! Every single element of your life gets better smoke free. Your coffee, your food, your breath, your skin, your wallet, your sexlife. ALL are much better as a non smoker. Most importantly you realise that you have looked the nicotine addiction straight in the face and said "no more. I am free. I am in charge. This is a very powerful feeling. You are doing great!

  21. Your body is in the last throes of addiction. 72 hours and all of the nicotine is out of your system. Your mind is just doing what you spent 23 years training it to do. It is reporting in, saying that in the normal run of things, you would now have smoked x cigarettes. Just be patient with it, and tell yourself there is a new normal...no more foul, lethal cancer sticks. You got this warrior. Stick with it, it really is worth it. Welcome to the forum by the way. Who are you, where you from?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
