  1. Short Answer. No Better Answer. http://quittrainblog.com My answer. Beatable
  2. I am so lucky in that my wonderful wife quit a few days after me - and has never looked back!
  3. Second page is good. This will all naturally improve - as traffic hits the site. Helping it along just means that people needing support can get here quicker.
  4. Sorry - I meant exercising the site... Google measures how long people spend on a site - and where they go. So - just doing what we do, going through multiple posts and threads will increase the google rating.
  5. That would work - but also Stop smoking, help stop smoking....Google measures what people click when searching - so if they notice that people who want to find 'stop smoking support' are looking for quit train - the quit train starts going up the list...its not all cause and effect - but you get the general idea.
  6. 6 miles on foot today. Couple of decent walks with the hound...chilled Sunday.
  7. If you are thinking about quitting, struggling with quitting, quitting again...come quit with us.. God knows that I need the friends!
  8. All true Aine. Great thread. I know at times that the thought "oh..how could I tell the guys on the board" has been part of my defence!
  9. 9 month quit. Works Christmas do. Girls all want to dance - don't worry, I'll watch your handbags I said. This was back in the days when smoking was still allowed. "I'll just have one. Proves I don't like them any more" Only taken 16 years to undo that particular proof....... Great Post Sharon. NOPE!!!
  10. I am guessing that MQ is working on this - but things that we can do to help: 1. Google relevant phrases, and then connect to the site - you may need to go through several pages to get to this - its new! 2. Share and like on social media - FB, Twitter, anything - we are trying to create 'buzz' 3. Keep posting, tagging and 'exercising' All of these things will help with the ranking with Google. Faster than you might think!
  11. Me too - the more the site is shared, liked, referenced, searched the higher it will go in the rankings..
  12. WILL PEOPLE STOP DOING THIS...I am a hairy-arsed Scot - the size of a house. Whimpering at my keyboard is NOT a good look! Doreen - I have a feeling that Dottie is going to be a much loved little cat. Made up for you.
  13. Babs - I am sure that your Dad would be so proud of you - your little ones too. Fantastic post. Thank you.
  14. I think that this is the key...I think you were thinking about how it would go once he was back....perhaps one to ponder tomorrow! Great job today!
  15. As for running away... Easy. I just walk up and down the streets of Perth - listening for the theme tune of Coro or the Duff Duff from Eastenders... There is no escape Soozy! Sleep well. Tomorrow, your quit will be stronger and you will feel better, I promise.
  16. Yep. Search for the site. Mention the site - google will detect all of that.
  17. Hey Soozie! I'm glad it eased up a bit. However, the above is "nonsense on stilts". I think that it is incredibly important to feel able to post in SOS. A few people follow that forum, precisely because they want to react quickly. The fact is that all SOS begin with a mild little thought and just like with the heart, the earlier treatment starts the more effective it is! We would all rather 100 too many SOS than 1 too few. I think that you have handled it brilliantly, sometimes you just have to put your head down and grind on!
  18. Yep, inner junky. He/she wants you to feel miserable! You, in the midst of smokers, at a change of season have quit smoking. Brilliant! Not only that but you just fought off a full blown heck week crave. Feel Good Soozie. Be Proud of yourself. I'm proud of you!
  19. Incidentally...post in the SOS sub forum next time! I follow that sub forum, which means I get an email whenever there is a post! Rocket Surgeon on call!
  20. Soooooz! It's all because of your Soap Opera problem.....(ok maybe not) Fantastic work on posting here. Absolutely brilliant fight off of the crave. You are doing amazingly. With so many smokers around you, there will be temptation. You will feel like having a cigarette from time to time. You spent years training your body that smoking was good, was relaxing. Now you have spent a few weeks telling it the opposite. Are you really surprised that it is not quite sure what to believe yet? Nobody died from a crave. You did brilliantly Soozie and these will get easier and less frequent... Keep smiling!
  21. 7 months! Incredible achievement for a cat! Congratulations. Get your human to treat you both today. :D

  24. Leanna! Great to see you here. Welcome.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
