  5. Quitting is no harder than starting. In fact starting was tougher - pretending to not want to puke. Pretending to be cool...what a lot of handwork that was.
  6. 3 Morning USA!
  7. -11 we got this Joe. Kick it!
  8. Nearly there Marti... Last week it was really winding me up. My mind was entertaining the concept of relapse. In a sort of 'not going to happen' way but a sort of "ooh, I could smoke a cigarette now" way. Kept saying nope. Maybe stamped my feet once or twice. It's annoying I know. The junky keeps prodding and poking - seeing if he gets a reaction...when he doesn't - he sort of goes to sleep (If Sharon comes in on this thread she would be shouting "sleeping Chimp!") You and me - we are addicts. However, through abstinence we put the addiction to sleep. In times of high stress or just long forgotten triggers - the idea of smoking will come up - the addiction will lazily open its eye. You and I will laugh to ourselves and say "No, thanks. I stopped smoking umm...last year, no the year before" Your junky is dozing off. He is still fidgety. He is poking and prodding, but you can see his eyes drooping. Patience Grasshopper

  14. Well done! Better out than in as they say.... Any more? Did you shoot Kennedy? Any idea on the location of Lord Lucan?
  15. Now I have to wash the coffee off my computer screen!
  16. Some stats for you... I have been quit for less than 3 months. Cigs not smoked as of 0815 BST on April 24. 2,614. These would have cost me £1,045 which is $1,672 or 1,881 AUD or €1,254. Since I quit 835,571 have DIED of smoking related illness. Died. Dead. Deceased. And not a single one of those went quietly in his or her sleep, believe me. Here is the kicker - I am NOT miserable. I am not not even OK - I am effing DELIGHTED! I feel better, I look better, I am better. Give it a go - its easier than you think!
  17. Yep. Sorry, I think we all get there from time to time. My tricks: 1. Phone some loved ones - family and friends. Try to be there for them. 2. Come online - support some people 3. Do some exercise 4. Go somewhere new - a museum/a canal/ somewhere different
  18. Evelyn, do what you need to do. We are all behind you.
  19. 6 months. Great work Rez. A real Gent too. Congratulations!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
