He doesn't try to 'modify' or to treat you differently. You might agree with him, you might not - that is your right. The personalities thing is way beyond my experience or capability - and beyond that of anyone here I think. You have a team of Pros to help you with that in the Netherlands. It would be dangerous of us to try to help in an area that we do not understand. We do understand a bit about quitting. We understand that at times it can be tough. We understand that you get frustrated. We understand that stopping and starting all the time is hard for you. But we believe that you can do it. We believe that you will do it.
