  1. -2 top of the morning to you all
  2. They are horrible and brilliant all at the same time. That terrible sinking feeling, then the flood of relief... I think there must be something in the subconscious running a 'test' making sure the quit is real. I still get the very occasional one.
  3. Great work. Congratulations!

  15. I remember not being the boss of me. I remember wanting to arrive at the restaurant early so I could smoke a couple before dinner. I remember eating my appetiser quickly so I could get a cigarette in between courses. I remember dreading vacations because of long flights.... I remember being a slave.

  17. Brilliant, honest post Wendy. For me, a point that you make is incredibly powerful. "Thursday I chose to smoke...Friday I chose not to smoke". For me, the realisation and understanding of that simple thing gave me the key to unlocking the addiction. I have the power. I am in control. I make the decision. Tomorrow, I can be a smoker again. I simply chose to smoke a cigarette. I don't want to be a smoker again, for all the very many reasons that are discussed all over this forum of ours, and so I choose to say NOPE rather than to smoke. Thank you for the honest post, and brilliant work for getting right back on the horse.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
