  1. Gone are my days in being fanatical about exercising the recovery these days for me are longer so I listen if my body says speed up or slow down, I also cannot be a couch potato but I allow myself this in the evenings it's called fat panz and chill time :) I do enough to keep the juices flowing and my mind focused and if I enjoy it, walking is my passion but I like to up the pace now and again but not to burn myself out, those days are definitely over. I do however go on silly faddy diets, not soup or cabbage etc, I guess I just get bored easily but lately been normal lol Talking of time zones I cross over on Saturday and Bakon I have it in writing you said I was not nuts going to print this off and use it as a sanity certificate :)
  2. getting any procedure done when you have a health scare is always scary not so much the procedure its self (depending on the procedure of course) but more what are the results going to be and that is one of the main reasons people don`t go its the bury the head in the sand method, but I can vouch that if you do bury your head in the sand it could be too late for just some simple procedure and the results are far more painful and scary than any poking and prodding you avoided in the first place! There is a time to be serious and that is go get any tests done right now right this very minute if you feel something is "just not right" but for the rest of it from my experience my SOH was what got me and my family through the rough of it. hearing the word Cancer is morbid but seeing my family suffering was far more painful, only I could change that, if I remained serious and morbid so would they, on hearing if I didn`t have the operations or treatment I would have 6 months, my reply was "well you better bury me on my knees, head down - so the world can kiss my ass!" me and another woman after our operations used to have races to the dining room, took us 20 minutes to get there with catheters and drips and lots of ows and awws and telling offs from the nurses but it got us through whenever a visitor came we were always laughing, mainly at the amount of wind that gets trapped after op and that a cloth curtain does not hide the noise when it releases :P - things normally I would die of shame of  I remember it all like yesterday and I have to say that I remember the laughs and giggles more than the pain and upset - it was really the best medicine for me and all around me  best of luck to all of you going through or waiting for procedures, better to be safe than sorry and you are all in my prayers for a speedy recovery xx keep laughing your asses off and don`t sweat the small stuff B)

  20. Oh poor ava I hope you survived :) this reminded me of the grand canyon and where I found out rez resilience to chillies were low, he ate an appetizer called rattle snake eggs(the clue was in the title) nothing to do with eggs or snakes lol it was peppers stuffed with cream cheese OMG I'm wetting myself thinking about it even now, well what a girl, he went purple, sweating, ate everything and drank everything on the table (from 1 bite only) I nearly had to get the snake bite survival kit out lmao I am sorry but I have a warped sense of humour and find these things extremely funny and am absolutely no use what so ever as usually I'm on the floor by now But yes bread, milk, yoghurt etc is supposed to help :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
