  3. This is for the newbies to help them use the whole of the board and may help them on their journeys..... When I first quit, every second of my awake brain was focusing on the quit, not smoking, trying not to think of it etc etc it was a soup just sloshing around and around and it was hard to concentrate on anything else People around me didn't understand, family and friends were smokers or never smokers That's when I went looking for a support system and found you guys I was 2 weeks into my quit I read a lot of stuff on nicotine addiction which helped me understand the thoughts and changes going on within me but I needed to get this sloshing soup out of my head and get on with life, I couldn't just shut it all out Many members kept saying go into social play the games you need to distract yourself, I had a very stressful job at the time and thought I can't be dealing with all that nonsense at the moment But the truth was I needed that nonsense because the quit was consuming me and making things harder then it needed to be So the reason for my ramble is newbies try a distraction play some games on here, they are not hard and don't need any concentration There is sections here too for interests and hobbies that you can get involved in, reading, cooking, fitness etc etc and if there is nothing there that interests you, then you can always make your own up as there might be others with similar interests It's a great tool on the forum and can bring things back into balance and focus It's only a suggestion and it may just help you Maybe other members can say how they distracted through the soup/fog

Hi raya an welcome :) What an awesome quit you have there, I'm delighted to see you here, a long term quitter gives us all hope and courage Yes we try to have fun here, as quitting is serious but it's easy to let it consume you so easy distractions have helped many here Looking forward to getting to know you
  7. I really will have paranoia now in the summer when it's time for the flip flops, bakon has ruined comfy footwear moments for humankind lol It's not does my bum look big in these... It's does my fairy smell in these OMG :)

  11. My issue is with the blow drying, what the heck is it with them to put in sticky products and make you look like you stepped off the set of hairspray! I always jump straight in the shower and start over :)
  12. Not sure if you celebrate it over the ponds? It's a day full of pranks and jolleys :) But no fools here, this site is full of smart people! We quit smoking, nothing foolish in that :) Have a great day smart ones x

  17. Poor soul just goes to show how desperate they can get :( Shout it out every day cpk, those good feeling moments will soon multiply, in the beginning we have to cherish those little yippee moments, it helps when things are a little harder
  18. I was notorious for pocketing others lighters, didn't even know I was doing it half the time, got to a point they used to hide them lol, I had quite a collection when I rounded them all up and emptied pockets and handbags Hope you got a light a a and get some chillax time in th room :)

    I remember one day not long after arriving at the qt, me and action ran out of likes lol we were so excited about having so many we went on a total likefest :) I must admit I am very lazy with my likes, it's not that I dislike like anything or don't agree, not at all So please don't be offended if I don't like, it's just an oversight on my behalf x Note to self must like more

Hi Rob great to see you :) Glad.You posted The trouble is it sounds like you think you are giving up something, rather than you quit If you keep thinking you enjoyed it and trying not to want one, you are going to put yourself through torture and there is only so far you can fight it, I know I was going through it myself until someone pointed this out to me The enjoyment is false, it's an illusion wrapped up in nicotine hits add this to sitting in the sun or .... Drinking with your mates gives the illusion that you really enjoyed it - lies all lies Any of us would give our high teeth to be in your position again, someone so young and smart enough to quit young Read on nicotine addiction, watch the videos,peel off those layers of lies Remember you quit! You are not giving anything good up Keep posting no need to just lurk :) Congratulations for getting back on the horse x
