sweetheart both were an abusive relationship what you are feeling is natural, whats happening is called healing not physical but mental you are transforming into what you should be both how ever horrid became your normal and now that has all changed and you are feeling a sense of loss of identity and probably lonely even though you are surrounded by people I want you to listen to an old biddy here who has been in the arena you are doing fabulous, you are emerging as a free woman and in the not near future something wonderful is going to happen for you but you have to give it time - in a rush to feel loved we can jump straight back into what feels normal and that could be another abusive relationship you dont want that, you dont deserve that time is a great healer take a deep breath, go out into nature have some quiet time trust me something wonderful will come now you take all the hugs you can get from family and friends and us and you hold your head up high for you are FREE and you have a clean slate to be whatever you want to be and go wherever you want to go pm me if you need to xxxxxx

hi dentalfloss how are you today? I cant really add to whats already been said but bad days will come and go its what we do that makes the difference and its all normal no matter how long you have been quit its a process and a journey and we keep learning on the way keep posting hun, reach out and open up, send pm`s everyone here can be trusted and will help you when you work it through and understand it, you can then move on don`t feel bad for feeling like this you are not alone here sending you a hug x

I didnt experience no mans land but I did set myself up for a difficult no womans minefield in my quit because when I quit before I lasted exactly 6 months so my goal this time was to get past 6 months after the 6 months quit the buzz was no longer there and I can totally sympathise with what Lace said above and then life got stressful and it was a struggle to hold on and then my whole life changed and the only thing that would have been familiar was a smoke my mindset and the board saved me, posting, reaching out continuing to trust what others say and holding the hell on for dear life, excepting a hug and a kick up the butt and then move on my goal now is to take things a day at a time, stress will come and go in life roll with the punches tommorow is a new day and smoking will not change a darn thing and if I get them thoughts I look at the other areas in my life that are bringing the thoughts up and deal with that if you are in no mans land - its time to find a new goal or new hobby or new buzz if you are struggling emotionally then please reach out we are all here with one goal and thats to quit for the rest of our lives, whatever it takes

Tink replied to slovenka177's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
hi slovenka please change the can`t to CAN and is your fear of failure or SUCCESS? as an addict I was exactly the same before I quit, posting here and with support and education changed my mindset, now for me it wasn`t a bowl of roses there have been ups and downs and I have been close to the wire many times the thing that saved me was my mind set I wanted to quit more than I wanted to smoke and realised I can do this and keep doing this and then it gets easier change the Can`t to CAN then take it one step at a time, keep posting, keep learning stick close to the board until you have a handle on it, which could be a week or a year but for now just know you CAN one day at at a time -
doing the kids stuff is good for the soul, I think its what keeps me young at heart, i dont care about the aches and wrinkles good idea to go back with your kids Marti - keep the fun alive it helps balance the boring crap stuff we have to endure as adults lol so glad you had fun this made me smile for you xx

Hi nat I still do when out drinking for a moment feel oh I could just...... then I switch it to really look at them, study their face etc its a complete turn off then i pity them I understand how you feel about the confidence thing but really you should have more now, be proud hold your head up high you do not stink and people are no longer looking at you or away from you thinking stupid stinking smoker! protect your quit and stay away for a while, socialise with non smoking friends until your confidence grows and it will! pat yourself on the back though as you did great to get through this situation xx
