  1. Its almost certainly going to be heavy rain according to the weather. I love bbqs, the standing around eating, drinking, smoking (!). So I won't be smoking. I don't tend to eat anything but the salad as I don't like eating vege burgers that have been cooked on meaty grills. My ex might be there. So I'm going to be a tense freshly non smoking trigger ladened non meat eating salad loving freak. I may as well go naked just to put the icing on the cake! Any suggestions? I don't want to avoid it.
  2. No smoking for me!!! :)
  3. Thank you for you kind words they help. And congratulations Xxx

    This or That!

Which to kill first? One direction. There are more of them and more opportunity for them to procreate. They need to be stopped before more damage is done. Listening to Justin beiber or having your fingernails torn off with pliers?
  5. As it happens... I am a tiger!
  6. Thanks. Not the kind of dress I'd wear to the pub!
  7. Thanks everyone and in case anyone was wondering today was day 10 and I was going to spend £50 on myself... I bought this http://www.next.co.uk/g801002s4
  8. My quit was in part because of my break up. But my quit reinforces my break up and my break up reinforces my quit. I think! Fortunately my head is not too bad this morning!
  9. Wow that's amazing!
  10. Should probably point out. I didn't get home at 5am! Just woke up silly early and wrote this post!

    This or That!

Stick shift (or manual as we call them here) Long or short hair?
  12. Anyway. Its 5:45. I'm going back to bed now!
  13. Last night was a big night. No big event just friends down the pub. But this was my first night out in 2 years as 1) a single woman, and 2) a non smoker. I wore an almost embarrassingly short dress and suitably uncomfortable shoes, did my hair and make up and aside from having a bit of a suprise cry was ready. Down the pub there were a lot of joint friends, people who were both mine and his (the ex) friends. I took robf's advice and told my best friends my plan of escape if things get bad. Well. It wasn't that bad. People went outside for smoke breaks and I realised I had about 5 non smoking friends. I hadn't ever considered how many smoking or non smoking friends I had before! This made it easier. I bitched and off loaded about "the bastard ex" they agreed like friends should. They even commented on my skin looking good! Several drinks later. I started getting triggers. BIG triggers. Wanted a cigarette so badly so decided to leave. Fell off my chair and flashed my knickers to the entire pub. Yes, it was time to leave! Maybe the short dress and heels wasn't the best idea! A (non smoking) girl friend actually walked me home and made sure I was watered and fed back at my flat. Awesome friends. Awesome night! I did it!
  14. Just woken up (at 5:25) to see this. Hope you are OK Xxx
  15. Only an hour left of the day. Then home. And not go out because I'm scared of triggers :(

  20. surely on an individual level everyone has their own goals. Be it the length of a previous quit, amount of money saved etc. Applying labels and commonality to a very personal thing seems strange to me! But hey!
  21. I give in. How do you count that high on 2 hands?
  22. I loved hitting my first week. 10 days (which is tomorrow) will be my shopping trip. Beyond that I guess 1, 3, 6 an 12 months? Dunno!?!?
  23. I know I'm new here so I don't mean to sound rude, but what is the point of this?!
  24. What sarge said (not the boners bit!) But on a shallow level, I smell great!
  25. Just a shame its raining today.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
